The Supreme Court of Nevada issued a decision yesterday in Azucena v. Stateoverturning a conviction and life sentence due to Judge Richard Scotti’s reaction when a juror explained why she would not be able to be impartial. Judge Scotti’s rant included inappropriate language and tossing a pocket size U.S. Constitution book against the wall. I happened to be in the court room that day. That group of jurors were clearly trying to come up with excuses to get dismissed. Did Judge Scotti over react, yes, but he did not throw a book at anyone, he “tossed his pocket Constitution out the window “ -so to speak.
Nah. Judges want attorneys (let alone common citizens) to have respect for the judicial system, they need to act respectful towards the judicial system. Scotti was not merely a little out of line; he was sanctionably out of line.

Hey, he acts like Bonnie Bulla does without the cussing. Going after attorneys for nothing, and requiting them to donate money to the law library.

Ok wow. Today is a big day for law news. Let's start with Scotti. Scotti acted like a child on the bench. Throwing a book? Cussing while on the bench? this is unheard of. why isnt the judicial ethic commission on this?
Now on to the real juicy story: the part time hooker/lawyer. Well, this is a interesting way to pay off the student loans faster! As a male, my masculine inner ego cannot comprehend/reconcile how another male (the husband/father of the kid) is completely fine with it. Is he allowed to bang girls too? I just cannot understand being able to be with someone who will go out of town and sleep with multiple strangers. Dont get me wrong, i am not judging anyone here, just having a hard time understanding how the husband is cool with it.
Also, (just for shits and giggles), imagine if she is opposing counsel on a matter. Could you bill for time talking to her about the case whilst engaging her for her other services? i bet the RPC doesnt cover that!

And if the prosecution's job is to do justice, why did they not join the defense in seeking a fresh panel or concede that a new trial was necessary? Why? Because that office seeks convictions not justice. Now the victims will have to testify again, re-traumatizing them.

So, apparently having a wife who is a prostitute isn't always easy. Her husband was suspended by the Iowa Supreme Court yesterday. This suspension makes some of ours look TAME.
