I’d like if we could do something about DUIs, but judging by the speed camera debate yesterday Las Vegans like their streets LAWLESS!!

New slogan: What happens in Vegas results in preventable death and injury on a daily basis (and we like it that way).

That abusive partner is a terrible writer as evidenced by his email. The whole thing is one big run on sentence.

The overuse of hyperbolic adjectives on nearly every phrase was actually painful to read.

Law firms are filled with narcissists and sociopaths, and the concentration is greater the higher up the chain one goes.

You see, the great secret, Associate, is not a question of good manners or bad manners, or any particular sort of manners, but having the same manner for all human souls. The question is not whether I treat you rudely, but whether you’ve ever heard me treat anyone else better.

RANT ON:

Playing “Find the Right Email from this List” does not constitute extra security for downloading documents, Tylertech. You literally send the list of answers in the service email. Its infuriatingly unnecessary extra work.

Also it does not work in that I am not able to get access to the document that I just filed and have to go to Attorney Corner to get my own document.

Another rant- why are there no more links to the Supreme Court and Court of Appeals Unpublished orders? We now have to take the case number and go to the search by case to view the orders that have been filed. Annoying!

Just took a CLE on the Corporate Transparency Act. Lawyers if you run your own firm, bone up on this new law because it completely changes what you legal duties are as a business owner.

What, so I can end up on yet another round of government black lists? Rules for them and rules for us.

This is actually a big deal. Did they indicate what the penalties are for Non-compliance.

$500 a day and proverbially you end up on the black lists. But the issue is so large that law firms could be held liable for every entity under their watch. It is a terribly drafted law.

Question, do you think a normal cleaning company meets this definition and can file a mechanic’s lien if not paid:

1. A person who contracts with an owner or a lessee of property to provide work, materials or equipment to be used for the improvement of the property or in the construction, alteration or repair of a work of improvement

I guess cleaning could be considered an “improvement,” but it kinda isn’t as well. At least not a permanent improvement. I think the answer is no, but I’m not sure. Thoughts?

Look at the definition of “work of improvement” under NRS 108.22188.

I appreciate what you are saying. But I see this argument all of the time when someone brings up a case or a statute or a citation that they believe will answer a question and people bark for them to summarize it, or post the case to a common blog (as happened this week with the Ballstaedt case) or break down the pros and the cons of the definitions. Seriously people rather than barking for more help, take advantage of the help that people offer on here.

No sounds like a stretch cleaning is not improvements just tidying. Not removing structures, fixtures, adding or remodeling.

PI colleagues: Which car insurance companies are both easy to deal with and known for promptly paying claims while acting in good faith towards their customers? I care less about the monthly cost than I do about their reliability when I need them, especially the UIM coverage in this town. We have five cars, all late models that require full coverage. Three teens.

Thank you.
