Happy Halloween/Nevada Day! Does your office dress up for Halloween? Does your office close early? What is the scariest costume you can think of for a lawyer?
Also, today is the last day of pro bono month? Did you sign up to take on any pro bono cases? Have you donated money instead of your time?
Stay safe out there, kids.
First
My first firm didn't celebrate Halloween — it was just another billable day with everyone wearing ties.  Except Steve Sorrenson…

He showed up in fully scary clown regalia  — including creepy mask, loud plaid suit, and huge red clown shoes.  The managing partner had to pull him aside and tell him he was not to wear the mask during the day, and should probably avoid meeting with clients.
I visited the link expecting to see scary clowns holding the power to destroy you. I was not disappointed.
Truly Ghoulish behavior

Does anyone know how someone who once was a certified specialist in an area of law has his certification revoked?
Are you mad cause you lost to this person?
Depends upon specialty
Not mad at all. This person represents a friend of mine and his website says he is a certified family law specialist but he does not appear to be according to the bar.
You should never depend on ANY bar site for 100% accuracy and most carry disclaimers. Always call the particular bar if you need to be sure.
CLE deadline is approaching. Does anyone have recommendations for low cost reputable CLE options? Thank you.
I like Lawline because it is an "All-You-Can-Eat" option, which means that I am taking care of this year and good chunk of next year's CLE for one price.
The Howard D. McKibben Inn of Court's monthly CLE programs are open to members of the bar. Our next program (1.5 CLE credits) is on Tuesday, November 14 from 5:15-7:00 p.m. on the Seventh Floor of the Federal Courthouse. The topic is about laying foundation to admit electronically stored information (ESI)under the rules of evidence. Hope this helps.
How about Avvo. No really – they have CLE that are Nevada approved all you have to do is log on and watch it. Really easy and do it on your computer/laptop without having to go anywhere.

I completely agree with 10:39. I recently obtained several CLE credits by registering for and logging into their webinars that present intriguing cutting-edge topics. 10:39 makes a solid recommendation for excellent (and free) CLE.
Just signed up for two upcoming free CLEs through Avvo before end of reporting period. Great recommendation. Thank you.
mzcle. Cheap, but you don't have a choice of topics.
Our local bar offers affordable recorded CLE seminars. Local speakers too. No login needed. https://www.clarkcountybar.org/marketplace/recorded-cle-seminars/
