Some attorneys dress up everyday and look like they are ready for Halloween. They wear more make up than Miss Piggy. Not attractive.

Thanks Donald. Shouldn't you be at a KKK rally somewhere?

Here is an interesting story: Girls fight in middle school, death threats are made. Mom gets a restraining order and CCSD says "It's not our job to enforce a restraining order." Who should enforce a restraining order during school hours? http://www.fox5vegas.com/Clip/12859732/ccsd-refuses-to-enforce-restraining-order-signed-by-judge

Sending your kids to CCSD is parental malpractice. Kid needs a restraining order against negligent parents.

What a load of crap this is. CCSD's standard response whenever you want them to do anything even peripherally related to a court case is "We need a signed order to do that." Now they claim they don't enforce restraining orders? It's really just an excuse to do whatever is convenient for them at any time.

Since the stadium deal looks like a loser, and since the room tax had no impact on residents AND was no big deal, let's keep the room tax, make it 100% for education and turn this town into a haven for brilliant kids getting the best education in the world.

Uhhh…why do you say the stadium deal looks like a loser? It appears that it's a done deal and the Raiders are almost certainly coming to Vegas. You might want to read the news a little more carefully.

You might want to read the story about Adelson and his greedy little fingers. I'd say the Raiders are 50-50 at best.

It really doesn't matter how much more money you throw down that money pit known as CCSD. They could have Adelson's bankroll and the results would look the same. It's not a simply formula of more money = better results.. the system is broken and no amount of money will fix it.

I'd be behind this plan, to the extent my libertarian streak would be behind anything the gubbmint does, except that I'm persuaded by the idea that we've spent more and more money on education the last 40 years and gotten nothing to show for it.

Tell me the money is going to be spent on fundamentals and after-hours support and I'll think about it.

This. Split this town into 4 school districts, provide equal funding for each (with additional federal grants available for low income schools), and let there be some innovation and competition. None of the largest school districts perform well (CCSD is 5th largest in the nation last I looked).

That's an idea I could support. End the 1 size fits all model and teach to the abilities of each child rather than continuing to try to fit the square peg in the round hole.
