Here is my random rant. I've been litigating now for over 10 years. I am tired of dumb fights. And by dumb fights I mean procedural skirmishes and squabbles that we all know are going to end in a certain way. I am tired of it. I am tired of looking at a case at intake, knowing about where it will end up, and going through unnecessary work and expense to the client when we all know where it will end up. Not all cases are like that, but a lot are.

Don't minimize skills and superiority in civil procedure. Dozens of times over the years, I have watched OC implode on a procedural issue, miss a deadline or make an unenforceable demand. Those wins are easy and often the most fun.

I LOVED looking at the judge or the discovery commissioner and just putting my hands in the air, and saying the words "I tried to tell him/her, your honor. Please make him pay my fees." You also look like a boss to the client, when you tell them what will happen and it happens exactly that way.

I agree 9:53, but those are the fights that billing by the hour encourages. I've noticed that when I'm against counsel that's getting a contingency fee, we can focus on the actual issues in the case much more.

With the understanding that political polling this early on is neither reliable nor remotely scientific(many respondents don't even select a candidate but decide on "undecided") the so-called poll, for the GOP Nominee for Governor, is by no means bad news for Sheriff Lombardo.

Former Senator Heller is leading with 31%, but Lombardo is still polling a quite respectable 23%. By no means bad as he has not yet had much opportunity to expand his name-recognition beyond Clark County.

Also, in his Sherriff's races, including his initial one when he was first elected, he pretty much dominating the field as far as being the candidate to raise a great deal of gaming money. That said, as a former U.S Senator, Heller will also do quite well at raising gaming money.

So, the results of the poll(such as it is), should be viewed favorably by both the Heller and Lombardo camps.

The one who should be worried is North Las Vegas Mayor John Lee, who has only 3%, badly trailing the third place candidate, Reno attorney Joey Gilbert who has 11%.

Ant time a candidate has only 3%, while other candidates have 8 or 10 times that amount, that's really concerning news even considering the real defects
in such an early poll.

Why is it a "so-called" poll? What else would you call it?

Yes, it's a poll, and can't speak for 12:58, but I assume they were kind of questioning the overall integrity and reliability of it, considering it is so early, and any poll with a large amount of "Undecideds" really scuttles over-all numbers and has some built-in reliability issues.

Those in the political community put a lot more stock in these types of polls when they are close enough to the election that the "undecideds" are reduced to single percentage points(less than 10%).

I agree that neither Lombardo or Heller should be disappointed in the results.

Blawg is on fire today! I will tackle the least controversial topic: I have only shined my Church shoes since March 2020. Well, more accurately, my son has. In fact, there is a layer of dust over my favorite court/client/office shoes. Wifey wants me to dust them off, but I will not do it. I like it this way.

Her: But the leather will dry out!
Me: Who cares!
Her: But what about when things return to normal??
Me: Baby doll, there ain't no normal anymore, and I ain't wearing clown shoes again.

Well, I will confess I am a moron. I was not smart enough to find a legit profession like chiropractic school, an accountant or a fluff boy on horse sex videos. I am stuck doing this stupid crap with clients who are absolute idiots and give me grief. And the last thing I need to read are these people who don't believe in the votes or the moon landing, FFS.

Then they came for the Facebook posts, and I did not speak up because I was not a loony toon.

Then they came for the 'gram, and I did not speak up because I was not a thicc piece tryin' to be an influencer.

Then they came for my law blawgs…

It's lame to delete the entire thread. Some of the comments were a legit discussion of one of the topics posted today. Is there a way to block the IP addresses of the looney toon offenders?
