Nate Schmidt being suspended 20 games is absolute BS. There was expert reports demonstrating that the amount in his system was far below any effective amount and within the range of indirect contamination. This is akin to the deflated footballs for Brady, as if even if the football was deflated that the Colts defense could have stopped the patriots. And it couldn't happen to a nicer person. Schmidt is a totally nice guy and loves Vegas.
Seriously — you probably are the same fool who wants to impeach Trump because you can't believe he won. Bringing up Patriots — FAKE NEWS.
I'm sure Nike will not notice any decrease in profits due to my boycott, but I will never purchase, display, or use any Nike product again ever.
Edgy move for Nike. Maybe a little too edgy.
You guys are crazy. Nike will see a quick drop and then will be fine. Boycotting Nike for endorsing this athlete you don't like, but being fine with Nike endorsing every other athlete that has done horrible things, says more about you than anything.
Snowflakes. So-called conservatives are so emotionally fragile when it comes to their idol worship of the flag. They get hysterical when someone doesn't genuflect to their satisfaction. It requires intervention by the President of the United States! SAD.
I love my country. To me, the flag of the United States represents the ideals the country strives to live up to, not just the people who live here, the regime ruling within its borders, or even the soldiers who have fought and died. I appreciate those things, but troops have died for every regime in the history of the world. The flag ought to stand for the principles that have made us special, the principles for which our troops died. First among those ideals is freedom.
This whole thing is so ironic. The perverse desecration to the flag is not a few people exercising their right to protest. No, it’s the mob who want to destroy the professional lives of those people for claiming the freedom that the flag is supposed to represent.
I support Nike. I like what they did. This is Nike's F-U to Trump and anyone who wants to suppress peaceful protests. You think Nike cares that maybe 25% of its consumers in the USA will stop buying? NIke is a WORLDWIDE product, and the conservative snowflakes who now stop purchasing its products is a drop in the bucket (more like ocean) for Nike. Nike is ubiquitous. Every single major superstar athlete is with Nike, most of which are black (and also support Kaepernick).
So, you think Nike cares about the boycott? I am 100% sure it will make up the sales by those buying Nike in support of Kaepernick for those who do not. For all you conservative asstards, good luck getting the same quality with adidas, reebok, or under armor.
Quality is hardly a reason to buy Nike. Nike is about bling, not quality. Nike is far more a marketing company than anything else. Go to a marathon some time and see how few of the runners wear Nike shoes. Granted, the Nike shoes will be the prettiest. But quality, performance and comfort come from other manufacturers.
The Kaepernick move is about Nike's base. In general, people with equity in a residence, a six-figure income, and a seven-figure 401k account don't buy Nike. Nike looks for people who make a $650 monthly car payment yet rent a government-subsidized apartment. Nike targets the guy who'll spend $250 on his favorite player's jersey every year while having the state pay for his groceries and health insurance.
The original thread was supposed to be about Kaepernick's legal battle with the NFL. But for those of you more interested in the Nike deal:

Nike is barely a sports equipment company anymore, they are an apparel company.
I buy stuff that meets my specifications for the cheapest price. I don't waste my time examining the politics of a company's executives. That goes for sportswear and chicken sandwiches alike. Also, I don't look at ads. I look at independent reviews, and I test the product.
Try finding a Nike garment made from a natural fiber. Everything Nike makes is constructed of some cling, plasticky synthetic shit.
And if Kaepernick wants to use this platform to convince people he's sticking to the man, then so be it. But I wonder how many of those Nike millions will go toward helping the subjects of his so-called cause. He'd deny it, but Kaepernick now IS the man. Ironic.
I mean, its a little ironic that Nike has taken such a strong stance on civil rights in this particular instance, when its shoes and apparel are largely manufactured for $3 an hour in horrible conditions. So, it feels a little tone deaf.
"Two years ago, Nike stopped allowing independent inspectors to monitor working conditions at Nike factories, saying that it would instead carry out these checks on its own. Since then, there have been reports of terrible working conditions inside these factories."

8:39 — Nike will not only not miss sales, it will not miss you — at all.
Thank u for restating what i said in a tone as though u just thought of it, if u live nike so much, try thinking for yourself, "just do it"
While 10:08 is a complete assbag in his characterization of poor people, he is correct regarding one thing. Nike's target market is young people and minorities. How many pairs of Nikes do you think that 50-something caucasian partner buys ever year? Over/under is 1. I'll take the under.
It's marketing 101. Know your target market. Nike does.
10:28 – remember when the whole Kaepernick thing started and he was criticized for not putting his money where his mouth is? Remember when he agreed with that so he pledged to donate $1 million to charities? Remember when he actually donated over $1 million to charities?
Yet that still isn't enough for you. You still question his authenticity by asking how much of the money he earns will go toward his cause. Maybe you should ask yourself why you set such a standard for others.
Who gives a flying care his level of sincerity? He is transforming a sport into a political event, as a spectator I don't have to like it, I'll go do something else with my time, I suppose I could protest at Church, in the Courtroom, on this blog, etc., is that the hallmark of greatness to ruin other people's enjoyment?, he may make far more being a martyr and living off the backs of the people he claims to work for (ala Al Sharpton, Jesse Jackson, etc.) than playing football
4:01 You're correct. I don't want to see protests, distracting cut away shots, bad announcers, or anything else that distracts from what I went to that channel to see i.e., football!! I am the viewer. I decide what I want to watch. The liberals do not understand that it is not the message but the interference with the game. I happen to be hardcore MAGA, but I do not want President Trump interrupting my game either as I am there to watch FOOTBALL!
If you ask me, the NFL transformed the sport into a political event when it started charging the military for holding and televising a recruitment/PR campaign during the national anthem. As a spectator, I think the game is pretty much the same as it was before the televising of the anthem.
Sacrifices "everything", really? Does he have any concept of true sacrifices people have made throughout history? SMH
2:36 – Why is 10:08 an assbag? Is someone who points out ridiculous truths automatically an assbag? Maybe you're an assbag for deriding "that 50-something caucasian [sic] partner" for his decision to forego the overpriced Nikes. I'll bet Nike's 50-something Caucasian executives and shareholders aren't down with Kaepernick and his shtick.
Those textbooks used to teach Marketing 101, they're written and published by 50-something Caucasians.
4:23, you say the problem is "interference with the game."
You must be suggesting that we get rid of the national anthem part of opening ceremonies. Someone taking a knee literally takes no additional time. The distraction is created by Trump and other knee-jerk "conservatives" using it to whip the MAGA constituency into hysterics. What the liberals don't understand is just what the hell it is to you. Why does it distract you so?
He "sacrificed" nothing. He wasn't a starter anymore and wasn't ever going to be one again. He is the (half) black, leftwing Tim Tebow. Awesome in college. Not so much in the NFL. He could run well for a QB, but that only gets you so far in the NFL if you can't hit the broad side of a barn with a football. His career was effectively over except as a backup, so he did this to garner attention, and it backfired. Well, until Nike recently decided it could use him for an ad campaign. Fine. That's his right. He'll make some money there where he couldn't make it paying football.
PSA: last day to click on Adelson's News for free! So read that garbage with impunity today, I guess.
The Stubbs story is fascinating to me and really topical. I am not a Stubbs fan, but if his recitation of facts is true, it is further evidence of authority run amok.
He states that all he did was tell his client not to speak with Metro. Police state that she was in their custody and were obtaining a blood draw warrant. They contend that he was obstructing their investigation and stalling the blood draw. It would not surprise me if that was Stubbs goal to to stall the blood draw until after the two hour period.
Until they have a warrant, he is on solid ground. If he simply was advising her of her rights without interfering in the actual draw, he is on solid ground. The Alex Wubbels case in SLC could be happening again.
Instructing her not to speak to police – solid ground.
Advising her of her rights – solid ground.
Refusing to leave the client's hospital room/waiting area after being asked to – not so solid ground. She has no right to the presence of an attorney in those circumstances.
Having been in a situation when SS tried to physically intimidate me at the courthouse, I'm inclined to believe he was doing more than just instructing her on her rights.
@1:44– I agree with you regarding refusing to leave her hospital room is fine. However he was not popped for trespassing. They arrested him for "obstruction of justice", which means that it appears there was far more than medical care going on.
If he was refusing to leave her hospital room because he told her not to answer questions and told the officers that she was represented by counsel, and they removed him while they kept asking her questions – then I'd say he should have a right to be there to witness them asking her questions so he could continue to advise them.
SS was walking into the RJC almost immediately behind me this morning ~7:50am with the guards asking him if he was arrested over the weekend – and talking about the press coverage. He wasn't hurt.
The Supreme Court of California recently issued an order requiring California attorneys to be re-fingerprinted, with limited exceptions. The link to the Court's order is http://www.calbar.ca.gov/Portals/0/201805231439.pdf?ver=2018-05-23-144831-320.
