The way Lombardo has handled this has almost diminished my opinion of him more than the traffic stop itself. Everybody makes mistakes and while the traffic stop isn’t defensible, it’s also not Iran Contra or Watergate. It’s embarrassing to see him work so hard to avoid obvious accountability. He called up his friend Kevin to bail him out. Yes, the officer “exercised discretion,” no shit. Discretion based on the Ron “I’m Kind of a Big Deal” Burgandy Rule. That’s the problem. I am so sick of people working so hard to avoid admitting they were wrong. Try this Governor, “I could have handled that traffic stop differently and I wish I did. I believe in upholding the law. I have contact Metro/DA and requested that they issue a citation which I intend to promptly pay. Nobody is above the law.” Why the fuck is that so hard?!??!?!
Or maybe just someone who thinks Lombardo should take accountability. I’m not OP but I completely agree with OP. This is not a huge scandal, but he’ll lose some votes over this. It’s really stupid of him to not correct it.
Not 10:03. If you watched the video, you’d know that there was no warning or discussion of the violation. The officer promptly let him go in response to Lombardo identifying himself. It’s a bad look.
Lombardo pushed once with the name drop and the officer held his ground. Lombardo pushed a second time and the officer let hjm go out of frustration rather than issuing a warning and determining it to be a non-citeable offense. Lombardo was not seeking and did not receive a warning; he was big dicking the officer.
I am voting for Lombardo because I am sure as s**t not voting for Ford who has far bigger transgressions on his record than misuse of office for a traffic violation. But it is fair to cringe at this assertion by Lombardo that he has many leather-bound books and his apartment smells of rich mahogany.
10:03 AM here. Fair enough. I’m just sick of the two party binary choice. I don’t like Ford and I’m under no obligation to vote for him because of this. I also don’t care for Lombardo’s Trump stink. Will vote third party or “None of These Candidates”
None of these is a vote for Ford the challenger. No thank you. Ford has been absent more than he is here. He hangs with Horsford outside the state. Horsford does not even live here. Ford goes to conferences , Dem events and is never at his desk. Ford thinks he is going to be Barack Obama and be President.
10:03 AM here. Fuck the false binary choice. I’m sick of picking between the less smelly pile of shit. Will be voting third party. If candidates want my vote, they can earn it. Being less depraved/incompetent/clownish than the opponent isn’t enough.
Lombardo stop. This way over done. A nothing burger. More interesting is Ford being out of state so much, or a discussion of plead vs pleaded or even the merits em vs en hyphens.
Get a life.
Are people, who previously used em dashes, consciously removing em dashes from their writing for fear it will denote AI content? I’m a huge em-dash fan, and now I’m rethinking and instead using commas or colons to show a person wrote the brief.
My grammatically correct writing style will not be changed because of a robot computer. My quality and on point discussion will distinguish my document from the artificial. Long live the em.
Okay, then let’s talk about Sheriff McMahill’s face caterpillar. I am not anti-mustache per se, but that collection of dirty toothbrush bristles under his nose is not the lewk
Ford supporters badly want this to be a major campaign issue. They’ll do anything they can to try and make this 100% benign incident relevant. It’s a comically obvious effort to misdirect from their candidate’s significant (and relevant) flaws and shortcomings.

Comedy Gold Jerry! The party YELLING at the judge and telling his attorney to pipe down and telling them both that they are going to be listening to him about his efforts to fulfill anger management requirements.

Wilhoit’s law continues to hold true.
Thank you for the rant from the Ford campaign
10:03 AM here. Fuck Ford and anyone else who thinks Ford should be Governor by default because of Lombardo’s traffic stop.
I think they are more worried about security guards with shotguns advice they were giving out to the PI board than targeting the traffic stop stuff. Plus, they did it worse last year: https://www.8newsnow.com/investigators/nevada-chief-investigator-drops-names-uses-anti-gay-slur-in-las-vegas-traffic-stop/

Have you never received a warning instead of a ticket? Patrol officers have that discretion.
If you are as much of a dick as your rant suggests, you may never have been given a warning.

10:03 AM here. I’ve never pulled the Ron Burgandy card and gotten out of a ticket. Fact.
Woke

I’ve been using em dashes since before AI was ghostwriting legal briefs. From my cold, dead hands.
