HEY!
Stop daydreaming. Get back to work. Let me remind you how much the firm has done for you. You still have time to improve your annual billables. GO TEAM!

That is one way to convert an area from predominately R to predominately D – take half of the R group (Nye County) and move them into an almost completely D group (Las Vegas/Clark County) that is a minimum of 30 minutes drive-time away. Maybe that's how they explain the demographics "Half of the group is 30-35 miles away separated by one long road, so clearly they'll have the same demographics and should be in one district."

It's quite remarkable that "Cyber Monday" was created basically as an advertising gimmick since it was nigh unthinkable that people wouldn't want to go in person for Black Friday sales madness.

The redistricting lawsuit is about the Assemblyman's district going from 77% white to 69% white. I live in Inspirada (Henderson) and I'm in the same Assembly district with Boulder City (36 miles away), Searchlight (60 miles away) and Laughlin (95 miles away) and you don't see the Assemblyman whining about that in his lawsuit.

@2:12p – That is INSANE that your district is so spread out.

Why does anyone believe Roe is in jeopardy of being overturned? There's at most 3 justices who support overruling it.

Perhaps because the GOP has been trying (and loudly advertising) their intent to appoint "pro-life" judges who will overturn Roe. Maybe they've gotten there.

I suspect there are more than three. In any event, they don't have to completely overturn Roe to make a consequential decision. They could also pare Roe back or otherwise limit it. That, in turn, would make it easier to potentially completely reverse in the future.

Well…overturning Roe will certainly gin up work for family law attorneys. Child support is going to be a rude awakening for some of those idiots.

As will the increase in the abuse/neglect and termination of parental rights case. Simply removing the abortion option doesn't suddenly make those individuals decide they want to be parents.

Even if/when Roe is overturned, it won't ban abortion, it will simply leave the question to the states. Many, if not most, states will continue to recognize the right to an abortion. Many women in states with abortion bans will be able to travel to obtain an abortion. Some women will find it difficult, if not impossible, to travel to get an abortion. The right has wasted so much time, money and oxygen on this issue, and, in the end between states with legal abortion and illegal abortions in red states, I'm not sure they will actually reduce the number of abortions by much by overturning Roe. A massive waste of resources.

Colorado made birth control available to teens and their abortion dropped to almost nil. The right isn't interested in actually ending abortions because if they were they'd be handing out birth control like halloween candy. They're interested in controlling women.

11:00 AM,

More than controlling women, the right would never want to actually solve the abortion issue because it's a great way to raise money/revenue and get out the vote. Why would they ever want to resolve/mitigate the abortion issue and give up all that money and all those voters?

Not unlike the left interjecting race into every election. Two sides, same coin. Is that the phrase?

Birth control should be free and available. Sex is cheap entertainment until you get pregnant. Sadly people spend more time and energy picking out shoes or cars than choosing the parent of their child. Then, they complain when they discover the "truth" about the other parent. They think they don't have share the child with the other parent. And they are so wrong. I have heard from 100's of people that their pregnancy was unwanted.
Once the child is born it is a death match for custody. Roe v. Wade needs to be affirmed. Adoption should be easier as well. I have yet to meet a teen mom who did not have serious difficulties; having a baby too young is the shortest distance to poverty, low income, and ignorance.

What is the procedure for filing a complaint with the judicial commission against a sitting judge?

And can it be done anonymously? I have a real hot potato here but don't want to expose myself or my involvement in the matter.

Go to the Commission's website and it'll have instructions. You can call the staff too. Likely you will have to give your name or at least give enough information on the case/incident in question that the investigator can figure out what happened. You might want to reference the judicial canons that were violated in your complaint as well.

I don't think you can proceed anonymously. The initial filing is confidential but I don't think it can be anonymous.

Can you provide the information to a 3rd party that would be willing to put their name on the complaint? Also, if the information comes from a publicly available source (e.g. media) the commission rules allow for it to open an investigation without receiving a formal complaint, if it so desires.
