Can we please stop with the judicial ass kissing of Brenda Wexler on the UNLV list serve? I like her, but it is annoying.

As far as the 16 applicants for the District Court vacancy, it just goes to show that we often don't receive much better options among applicants for appointed positons, than we receive among those running for judicial elections.
People assume there is a much better selection of attorneys for appointed positons, than there is among the choices of those running for judicial elections.
But it appears, in general, that really good and really successful lawyers often have no interest in seeking a positon on the bench. We are therefore treated to a bunch of applicants who tend to be long on political ambition, but short on meaningful talent or experience.
We don't see too many applicant who have "paid their dues" so to speak, or who have a reasonable lengthy and impressive career. And when we do actually see such people apply, they are almost never selected. They will be ignored and instead a young deputy D.A, often with barely the requisite 10 years of being licensed, will be appointed.
Of the current list, Terry Coffing, and perhaps three or four others, are worthy. The rest of the 16 are worthless hacks and repeat applicants, whose quality ranges form insufferably bad to borderline mediocre at best.

Regarding the Chad Denie disbarment, is anyone else surprised that he even had 800k in client funds? He seemed pretty incompetent. It chaps my arse to see these personal injury attorneys raking in the dough while I'm sitting behind my desk billing my scum of the earth clients hourly, crossing my fingers that I actually get paid.
You think he actually did work?lol The guy was a mess, obviously collected insurance settlement checks to live far outside his means. Does anyone have more details other than what was in the order? I am curious to know if he has anything to say for himself.
i appeared for a small claims case on behalf of an insurance defense client against a pro-per and the referee went out of his way to ridicule me and my defenses, and give the plaintiff everything he wanted.
Ah, there are attorneys who have appeared in front of Judge Judy, pro per, and in her courtroom before she went on tv. Yes, she does think she is Judy.

I thought 11:18 was probably being way too harsh is their assessment of the 16 applicants for the vacancy. I then went and checked who had applied. I now think that 11:18 was way too gracious in their assessment.
11:18 argued that about four of them are okay but that the remaining 12 applicants were worthless hacks. But I think virtually all of them are worthless, self-aggrandizing hacks.
Two of them seem acceptable. The best of the lot, by far, is the same one 11:18 names.
I know someone that uses it, and that person sometimes sends me invoices generated by it. They are easy enough to read and it looks it tracks all the important items. Also though it's possibly free (I think) depending on how many files/people you have.
I use it, although I certainly have not taken the time to learn and utilize all of the features that it offers. Overall, it is pretty simple to use, and you can get a free trial. I think there are about three different levels that you can get depending on the features you want. I have the intermediate, which for one user runs about $700 per year. I could probably get by with the basic level though. Many of these programs will advertise a teaser rate to get you interested, but then that turns out to be for the "basic" service, which may or may not be sufficient for you.

Is it just me, or has clarkcountycourts.us been down all weekend?
Thanks CCSD and other school officials–it will be great to add another cent sales tax for you to continue to mismanage monies. Require accounting degrees will ya?!

Dear 11:28 AM, I don't know you, but I want to tell you that I love you.

He has taken the 5th.
Chad Dennie is one of the biggest pieces of shit I've encountered. He got what was coming to him.
Judge G is digging in. Maybe one of the many participating attorneys can do a little write-up for us? Pretty please, with sprinkles on top.
She is the new judge Judy, treating attorneys like shit.
@1:48 Judge Judy treated attorneys like shit?
There were no attorneys in Judge Judy's courtroom.
But the ones who were there she treated like shit. Every time.

You are correct. There are 2 acceptable names interviewing (or who interviewed).
NOT ON TOPIC
Does anyone use Practice Panther as an Office Mgmt program? Is it worth a crap? What is a decent alternative and how does it compare??
Quickbooks integration / syncing is a must. Thanks. Have a great weekend ya'll!!
