Nevada’s campaign finance law is weak, vague, and easily exploited. [RJ]

Here’s a classic, Nevada long read about the battle underlying the recent district court decision about who, exactly, is protected by Nevada’s shield law. [TNI]
Frank Mitchell passed away Saturday morning after a brief illness. His wife died several years ago. They leave behind a 15 year old daughter. Fuck cancer!
Thank you…that's worth reading. Here is the conclusion "It is unfair that in order to practice law, attorneys in 31 states are required to be members of unions that engage in partisan political activity against members’ interests. Fortunately, the tide is finally turning and these corrupt organizations are starting to be dismantled. Just because the thugs running the state bar unions wear white collars does not mean they are any less union thugs."
I believe the Nevada bar should be split up and we shouldn't have to pay for the social stuff, just admission and discipline. But does anyone have any examples of activities that could be deemed political?
SBN is INCREDIBLY political. Look at what it lobbies for and at what teats it suckles. Heck Hooge stated last week that he meets with the Supreme Court regularly to carry out its wishes. Think about that. Think about Steve Wolfson having regular meetings with Linda Bell to come up with a gameplan as to how to carry out her wishes.

That's terrible. Frank was such a good guy.
Agreed. Frank was a great human being, a loving and devoted father, and a fine lawyer to boot.
Nothing on the March 10, 2019 LVRJ article about lobbyists and attorneys not properly registering as lobbyists.
OBC will get on this right away.
I am sure they will. Ask for Matt Carlyon.

Sound familiar?
Is the Nevada Bar political? I don't even know. I do know that the Buckley will never get one hour of slave labor from me.

Also it's dumb to call it a union and it tells me the author either does not know what state bars are or does not know what unions are.
OBC is political.
In what way?
Who they prosecute. Little guy always. Big guy never.

Can you please explain Linda Bell and Steve Wolfson meetings?
@2:59 don't hold your breath waiting for OBC to investigate the lawyers ignoring requirement to register / report as lobbyists.
Yeah, OBC will do nothing against Fennemore, Kummer whatever they go by nowadays. They would go after Moran.
I, too, I'm interested in Wolfson/Bell meetings. What is up with that?
@2:46 PM – Couldn't it be both?
