This is lame. Blog is dead. Let's go back to objectifying fellow attorneys and/or talking about who is an asshole or downright stupid. I like that, it makes me feel better about myself.

I'm so surprised at how few attorneys monitor legislative activities.

I rarely do work that would be impacted by state legislative activities. But the one time I did, I was surprised at how little the clients cared about it. They had no interest in going up and lobbying, even though the other side was doing it, and even though it meant that they had to hire lawyers several times a year over the issue.

Very few clients will ever have an interest in getting involved in the legislative process–even concerning issues that profoundly affect them. But that won't keep them from endlessly complaining about whatever issues induced them to hire you for representation. Even though the Law may be currently configured against their situation, they want you to somehow solve their problem completely, and after that's done they have no interest in changing the Law so it is more fair to others in the future who are in their situation.

So, I learned early in my career that clients have no interest in getting involved in the legislative process.

And as 10:05 indicates, even the attorneys have no interest in getting involved. If the attorneys don't care, we can't expect lay people to care or get involved–even when it directly impacts their pocket book.

Andrea Gandara is pretty hot. She's also a good attorney.

Danielle Tarmu is hot. I like redheads. Smart and sexy and that my friends would be the best of both worlds.

New rule: If you've got a comment about someone's appearance, sign your name. Otherwise you should STFU. There's plenty of gossip to be had on attorneys' bad behavior, incompetence, addictions, poor spouse selection skills, etc

Yes @1:56! Let's talk about bad behavior, incompetence, addictions, and poor spouse selection skills. That sounds much more entertaining.

I have seen this attorney some times in the RJC at court who literally looks like Clark Kent/Superman. Dark brown hair, blue (maybe green?) eyes, about 6'1. He looks like he is in his late 20s/early 30s. Wears glasses and has a Louis Vuitton briefcase (kinda douchey, but I like the pattern and color). Anyone know who I am talking about?

The problem with the few good looking male attorneys is that they know it, and that alone makes them undesirable. I have yet to come across a good looking male attorney with a good personality. That my friends would be a unicorn.

I was about to say something indignant and self-righteously feminist about comments about female attorneys' appearances but then I realized who DT is and wondered if she's the one who posted the comment about herself.

4:03, I think you are referring to Adrian Karimi. He is the only person I know with a Louis Vuitton briefcase. Ironically, he dressed up as Superman for halloween last year. He is a decent looking guy. I don't know him very well to judge personality, but he seems ok. From what I have encountered (albeit very little)

@8:16…same goes for women. The problem with the few good looking female attorneys is that most are pretentious and snobbish. I have NEVER met a female attorney with the trifecta of hot, smart and great personality.

The supposed "precedent" the shills at the R-J have found is specious, at best. There's a big difference between the GCB intervening when it has been subpoenaed to produce records to a party in a civil suit versus directly going to bat on behalf of a licensee.

But I guess we shouldn't expect Laxalt to understand that nuanced legal difference.

Can we talk about what a flipping jack hole that guy is? Between him and Wayne Allen Root, I'm convinced the RJ's goal is to make people dumber for having listened to them.

I know this was discussed last week, but the new substance abuse CLE requirement is so stupid.

It's the same CLE every time. How are we supposed to say that the CLE wasn't substantially similar to every other substance abuse CLE, when each one is just some lawyer telling the story of how they dealt with addiction?

Dear SBN, please stop taking taking our money and making our lives worse. Signed, everybody. Also, have fun in Texas. Signed, no one.

The good news is that the new E-File system saved me $14 in filing fees by allowing me to bundle my filings. The bad news is that the new E-File System cost me around $900 in billable hours because it is so incredibly inefficient to file anything through it.

Upvote. Speaking of which, maybe we need to move the chatter from here to reddit? I really want to upvote comments I read here sometimes. I'm on an attorney subreddit there where you have to submit your bar number/info to the mods to join. Great group.
