Dennis Kennedy tricks of weaponizing the language so that when it comes out (everyone figures it out) it will always be he is aka The Predator. Matt Addison is Matt Addison. But this guy (and I think we know who it is) will from hereonout be “The Predator”. Dennis is not cheap but he is also not dumb.
Yes, it can’t be defamation, but does anyone think this might run up against NRCP 12(f) as immaterial, impertinent, or scandalous material? Telling an aggressive story in a complaint is one thing, but it can be a fine line between being aggressive and being inflammatory or scandalous, no?
Oh I have seen it enforced. I have seen Judge Gonzalez, Judge (S.) Johnson and Judge Denton all strike pleadings for scandalous material in pleadings. I thought Judge Gonzalez was going to come over the bench she was so incensed by what an attorney had put in their pleading.
Because the suit isn’t against the Predator. It’s against the Shareholders who enabled the Predator and squeezed her out because the Predator was profitable – and the Shareholders are known douche bags. Personally, if I drafted the complaint I characterized the Predator as “Mr. Hart” – to honor the late, great Dolly and convey the message. But Lesley didn’t hire me. Hope she drains the firm

I am a Republican; however enough with wasting our tax dollars on stupid DOJ election interference claims that have been rejected by the Court. DJT is the president because he got the most votes in a fair election. Lombardo is the governor because he got the most votes in a fair election. Cortez-Masto and Rosen are Nevada’s senators because they got the most votes in fair elections. Jesus, lets go back to winning elections because we get the most votes.
Or the party of Nixon or Eisenhower, both of whom would appear positively liberal by comparison to how far to the right the party of Trump and MAGA has veered.
Democratic Party has gotten far more conservative over the last 10 years. People addicted to media will tell you the opposite.

Blast from the past: Another 14 defendants took pleas in an ongoing federal investigation concerning massive alleged fraud among Las Vegas homeowner associations. Among them are a lawyer, Brian Jones, 38, who admitted in his guilty plea that he helped rig board elections at two associations, the Las Vegas Review-Journal reports. He formerly worked at the now-disbanded law firm of Kummer Kaempfer Bonner Renshaw & Ferrario, which has been ordered to pay $3.1M to Las Vegas condo association.
One of Nevada’s leading law firms not only enabled a criminal conspiracy but also participated in it, according to District Judge Mark Denton.
Kaempfer Crowell is like one of five firms handling LVMPD work–most of it low level tort or 1983 things. It’s not like they’re general counsel or have special access. They’re government ID attorneys basically. Most of their bigger stuff is handled by Marquis Aurbach.
There was a post that quoted the finding that the law firm was not found to have participated in a criminal conspiracy but only failed to supervise Jone. Not sure how or why it was stricken.
I posted something similar and it was removed – let’s see if this sticks. They threw Brian Jones under the bus. Period. The same people named in Millers suit
Brian Jones is doing fine. Weird that a second year, working for the current managing partner, was part of a big conspiracy and the partner had no clue, just like he had no clue that Miller was being harassed.
What’s the case number on this one? This seems more interesting.

I just find it surprising that a partner in a prominent law firm was arrested at the office and frog-marched out the door months ago, and yet nothing about it leaked on the blog (I don’t read every post but I think I would remember something like that). You guys really need to up your scandalous gossip game here. I am quite disappointed.
I’m not sure if the complaint is referencing two different instances but paragraph 23 alleges “the Predator was escorted out of the Firm’s office in Las Vegas by law enforcement due to complaints from other women in the Firm.” Then paragraph 25 alleges “the Predator had brought an unknown woman into the Firm’s office after hours, tied her to his desk, and that a 911 call was later placed by the woman’s friend stating that there was an ongoing assault occurring at the Firm.”
He wasn’t charged with anything (that I could find) so it probably flew under the radar – especially if it was from an after hours escort.
The woman tied to the desk allegation seems super vague. It says “things”, but it doesn’t say the woman was unwilling or that a crime occurred–only that her “friend” thought there was an assault. If LVMPD showed up to a woman tied to a desk unwillingly I rather suspect charges would have been brought. Notably, this allegation is also not accompanied by a date so we have no idea if this occurred recently or in 2012 or what. Sounds salacious, better throw it in I guess.
This blog is mostly family law and PI attorneys from my reading. I rarely see much hot goss about big firms or commercial firms/government affairs firms. I’m not surprised at all that this is all news to this blog.
Upping the game here, as I have some reliable sources. He was not *arrested* months ago; he was fired and a couple off-duty officers were on-hand to essentially keep the peace that day.
3:17 – I had the same thought, because even my sources had not heard of the tying to desk / 911 call story. Some truth to some of those details no question, but unaware of any police involvement.
Yeah. This is what I suspected too. Off-duty LVMPD officers will serve as private security (see the Nike outlet stores) in uniform if the company pays their wages. When people are fired security usually escorts them off the premises after allowing them a moment to gather their belongings, but with a firm KC’s size I suspect they had no full-time security so they hired temp LVMPD security for the day. Just another salacious misrepresentation in the complaint it would seem.
Just because your sources are unaware of the 911 call doesn’t mean the complaint is false. Lesley is a lawyer – she’s not going to lie & neither is her counsel. Note – none of the allegations are upon information and belief. If she’s lying – she’ll have to deal. But I’d be shocked

Beaumont is running for judge and prosecuting an ex-police officer? Good for him. Noticed he’s been popping up in the news more and more lately, I wonder if this has anything to do with Peterson’s whole anti-freedom of the press stance? They can’t be big fans of hers.

Rats – the RJ article on Miller is paywalled (as they all are). I’m cheap, can anyone post or summarize? Spill the deets

Hello
Credit to Fennemore Craig for hiring Kelcie Binau and Lesley Miller.
Did we ever find out why Binau was stalked? Such a strange situation
She was together with Matt Adison who was also together with the Judge.
hmm binau doesn’t really deserve grace that’s slimey
She was the victim; the other two were the problem. Any fault on her part pales in comparison to theirs.
the only victims are the other associates who had an unfair disadvantage
I mean, she was allegedly an associate dating the managing partner of the firm at the time. Plenty of blame to go around.
I mean, she was also allegedly married to another, older man at the time as well
yes and that makes it worse
Let me guess – you support Lindsey Clancy
It’s not like anyone else is willing to work there.
Why would the complaint name a bunch of attorneys at the firm but not the Predator?
Dennis Kennedy tricks of weaponizing the language so that when it comes out (everyone figures it out) it will always be he is aka The Predator. Matt Addison is Matt Addison. Litigation privilege. Can’t be defamation. I think they did it to be inflammatory and to make it go viral. Which worked.
Yes, it can’t be defamation, but does anyone think this might run up against NRCP 12(f) as immaterial, impertinent, or scandalous material? Telling an aggressive story in a complaint is one thing, but it can be a fine line between being aggressive and being inflammatory or scandalous, no?
In a complaint?? Just like Rule 11 sanctions, I don’t think I’ve ever seen NRCP 12(f) actually enforced.
I’ve seen Judge Denton strike scandalous allegations in a complaint as well.
Were they relevant to the allegations? Somewhat. Were they scandalous and inflammatory? Probably somewhat.
I’ve seen Judge Walker do it before: https://ournevadajudges.com/media/coverage/71-tirzah-mathews-vs-marilyn-york?event=589
People. Do we really not know how to say “fuck you, you scandalous smelly pirate whore” in subtext? It is a lost art in the Trump/digital age.
2:51’s mother was a hamster, and their father smelt of elderberries.
I fart in your general direction
No way Judge Kierny dismisses the complaint or strikes any language – but I’m sure KC will try.
Because the suit isn’t against the Predator. It’s against the Shareholders who enabled the Predator and squeezed her out because the Predator was profitable – and the Shareholders are known douche bags. I was a Republican until 2016. The GOP looks absolutely nothing like the Party of Reagan.

Funny, I was a Democrat until 2016. Today’s Democratic Party is not the party of Bill Clinton.

wonder where he is now. I feel like he fell on his sword to protect the others.
And Kaempfer Crowell represents the police department. Go figure.
Kaempfer Crowell is like one of five firms handling LVMPD work–most of it low level tort or 1983 things. It’s not like they’re general counsel or have special access. They’re government ID attorneys basically. Most of their bigger stuff is handled by Marquis Aurbach.

DO tell!!!!

I just find it surprising that someone who apparently has that knowledge, and posts on the blog, doesn’t say anything more about it.
C’mon man…
Rob Telles was arrested for drunken domestic violence, and that didn’t make the news until about two years later AFTER he murdered Jeff German.
This blog is mostly family law and PI attorneys from my reading. I rarely see much hot goss about big firms or commercial firms/government affairs firms. I’m not surprised at all that this is all news to this blog.
