So, the answer to "Did Nicole Cannizaro accept contributions that violated campaign finance laws?" Is "Yes, probably, but there's no real evidence she solicited those donations or was in a position to tell they violated the law"?
Democrat here but am I the only one sick of Nicole?
Seems like the violators were, if anyone, the contributors. But they might not have had the requisite intent.
Though if it turns out this was a conspiracy by Ms. Cannizzaro to circumvent contribution limits, that would be a problem.
Yeah, the article mentioned Rory's scheme a while back to bundle contributions, donate to subPACs and have each PAC donate the maximum, but I don't see this as even remotely being in the same league.
And 10:33, she did kinda just slip into that leadership spot, didn't she? Why hasn't the caucus chosen a new leader?
She didn't just "slip into" the position; her caucus elected her as leader.
Registered Democrat here. The amount of unforced errors coming from state leadership is embarrassing right now. Ride population change for the next five years, and they'll be almost untouchable at a state level. Instead, leadership plays on the fringe of campaign finance violations with no real benefit from doing so. Even if there was no violation, it looks terrible, and it's complete Mickey Mouse nonsense.
I always wondered how Michael McDonald stayed in place for so long on the other side, but I'm slowly realizing that Nevada's political acumen is pathetic under either party.
No talent at all. Mostly selfish money baggers.
Michael McDonald is a friend. He will be the NV GOP Chair for as long as he likes because he assiduously listens to and responds to the needs of those who elect him (the State Central Committee). Those committee members are not typical Republicans. They are zealots. They often feel marginalized and aggrieved by what they call "the establishment." And Mike is always in their corner. Always. And now Mike has Trump in his corner too. It's customer service, really. Most of us attorneys don't get it.
Didn't Harvey Whittemore go to prison for that?
