The page view counter rolled over 5,000,000 total page views last night. What does that mean? Not much really—other than some of you like us enough to come back over and over and over again. Those 5 million views over the nearly 9 years of our existence includes 1,893 posts and 48,170 comments. It took almost 4 years to get our first million views in February 2015. And now here we are 5 years later celebrating another milestone. Thanks again for reading and commenting.

It's pretty clear that Sisolak tailored his many directives to once again help the Raiders. That $750m that will no longer be covered by room tax revenues wasn't enough.
Fuck Mark Davis and fuck the Raiders.
Well that certainly is "workplace appropriate and non-bullying." I imagine it will be removed shortly … oh wait … it's referring to a male and will no doubt be allowed.
10:53 It also refers to a public figure.. Why don't you use your coronavirus downtime to take a class on how defamation law works?
Uh, telling someone to fuck off is no defamation, but thanks for the giggle while I jiggle.
The Raiders and Mark Davis took the public for $750M. But sure, let's talk about how I (10:11 AM) used impolite language.
You all realize that we homeowners are going to be making the bond payments on that Stadium now, right?
So I'll say it again.
Fuck Mark Davis.
Fuck the Raiders.
Fuck every politician who voted to give them $750M.
Fuck all politicians.
Yes, and the same person keeps posting over nine years over 48k times.
Who was "Bankruptcy Hottie"?
Some jerkoff's apparition.
She never existed.
I'm not a BK guy. But I went to the BK courthouse to talk to Judge Markell once in about 2008, and there was a smoking hot blonde woman waiting in the hall outside the courtrooms with a bunch of documents in a redweld. I've decided–with no way at all to corroborate this–that she is the infamous BK hottie.
I thought the BK hottie was a guy?
All these years I thought it was "redwell."
Semi-serious question: Do you dress up for your BlueJeans appearances or are we on relaxed dress code under the Virus?
I'd like to know this also, haven't had to do one yet.
I appeared by audio only and won my Motion
Per Walmart sales, you wear a shirt, no pants required. 🙂
My recent comments widget has a whole bunch of comments that do not actually appear on this page. Looks like I missed some fun.
Been working from home for almost a month now. Loving it. Sure, the husband and kids get on my nerves at times, but not nearly as much as the other attorneys, paralegals, and receptionist in my office do. Sure, my productivity is lacking but I think alot of that would naturally be remedied once day to day life resumes (my kids getting back to school and daycare would help too). Do employers really expect employees to just go back to work like we've traditionally done for years. I just don't see myself sitting at my office desk for 55+ hours a week, guilted into not taking time off, or pressured by high billable hour requirements.
Related question: I hate my current job, how the HELL am I supposed to find a new one now?
I think we will see a pretty substantial shift towards remote working after this ("this" meaning the giant recession that hasn't really hit yet). It's not just for software devs any more!
The only downside I can think of is less camaraderie with coworkers. I'm sure there are many more. But if a good chunk of people just stopped commuting, that would be an enormous benefit – less time and money wasted for the employees, better for the environment, etc.
Why not just outsource all legal work to India?
That's ok if you want to rely on someone with an Indian 2 year law degree for your clients. Large national firms have been sending routine grunt work and word processing offshore to the Philippines and India for some time (an probably billing at associate rates to their clients). Upload the file at the end of the work day, get the processed document back when you come in the next morning.
I also love working from home and am really dreading having to go back to the office every day.
I'm also loving not commuting also. I haven't filled my car for a month and it still has 3/4 of tank.
I am really wondering what's the point of going into the office. I do just as much — if not more — from my home office now. I take just as many/few mental breaks here as I did in the office. If anything, I'm working more because I don't have a commute. I can communicate with staff by phone or email.
Bottom line, I wouldn't mind continuing like even after the plague is over.
As my wife noted, how do people having torrid affairs get through this? The office is important for more than just work.
I can think of at least five male attorneys who this post could describe. And one arbitrator who it will never apply to.
I love my wife, but I'm pretty sure this dual work from home while teaching our son elementary school thing is the final straw that leads to our divorce. In fairness to coronavirus, the divorce has been on the horizon for like 5 years. But alas, coronavirus looks like it'll be the thing that finally puts a nail in the damn thing.
7:07 p.m. Keep in mind, it's cheaper to keep her.
You can save your marriage! IF you knew my wife and me you would be shocked that we are still together. It's hard work, but with a little bit of open minded thinking, and a bit of proper role playing (she needs to submit, you need to lead), it can be done. This author helped me save my marriage.
And, yes, it's cheaper to keep'er.
It is expensive because it is worth it.
7:07 here. Thanks for the advice, but I think this thing has run its course. The only thing that's kept us together this long is our kid.

Classy. Get your own blog and do what you please.
Since it is a slow afternoon, time for a pet peeves
Peeve #1 The misuse of "literally"; and, its over use in almost any conversation describing an event.
Peeve #2 Drive thru lane at McDonald's. Let me set the scene. Three or more cars in line. When the car in front of you gets to the order window/speaker only then do the occupants start to discuss their order with each other. Come on, they have all been going to McDonald's for their entire life and know the menu, and waited in line for 5 minutes or longer without thinking about their order.
Those are your top two? Literally, those are first world problems.
Peeve #3 – When your hand hurts after bitch-slapping the chauffeur because he stopped to fast and made you spill your latte.
For #2: mandatory caning. On the spot. Right there and then. And they have to go to the back of the line. No Big Mac for you!
Any insight regarding Lewis Brisbois' discretionary bonus?
Yeah, as my brother infamously said, "Dad, 'maybe' means no."
How about a comment from someone who knows what they are talking about. Thanks.
Of course the chapels are behind this one:

The chapels and one judicial candidate trying to make the news.
It's hard to take a Complaint seriously when the author can't even set the margins within the pleading paper lines and the page numbers are covered up with footnote text. Take a little pride in your work. This is reason enough not to vote for the news-seeking candidate.
