I took the down votes as people downvoting right-wing militias made up of former LVMPD detectives.

I see. But that’s a fairly small set right?

I downvoted the obvious troll of posting this article.

I’m reminded of the story about the guy who murders his parents and then throws himself on the mercy of the court because he’s an orphan.

re: Amazon Medicaid Recipients
The article says that many are full time employees. How is that possible?
Their income exceeds the max allowable to obtain Medicaid benefits. Medicaid, not to be confused with Medicare, is a needs based form of welfare that considers income, age and value of assets. Most of the cost is born by the state.

They have kids? The number of people in a household is taken into account for determining Medicaid eligibility.

>Their income exceeds the max allowable to obtain Medicaid benefits.

The report includes people who made $10.25/hr. Assuming 40 hours a week, 4 weeks a month, that’s only $1640/month. Even if you’re making $15/hr., that’s only $2,400/mo.

For a family of 4, the Medicaid eligibility cutoff is $3,191/mo. (https://dwss.nv.gov/uploadedfiles/dwssnvgov/content/Home/Features/Peace_of_Mind_brochure.pdf)

ONJ Killing it again. While its been a couple of years since I was in front of Hearing Master Norheim, I am reminded that he has the patience of Job and the demeanor that we sorely need on the F.Ct. bench. He should apply and/or run. Pardon this final tidbit. Down with the cabal.

Norheim’s proximity to the guardianship controversies a decade ago may pose a challenge to any potential run for office.

Perhaps. Nonetheless, we could do (and have done) a hell of a lot worse.

Did anyone appear in front of the new Family Court Judge, Maxey, yet? If so, any feedback or observations would be appreciated.

The Medicaid article is trash. It gives zero facts about how much these people are paid nor about the levels of qualification for Medicaid. The reader is left to guess whether “amazon” (and the State, County and School District) are all paying people poorly, or if this is Medicaid fraud or if this is some bureaucratic incompetence and waste.

There’s a giant chart. Amazon has 8,951 employees on Medicaid, with an average of 1.02 dependents also on Medicaid. Medicaid income limits are 138% of the federal poverty level for adults, 205% for kids. The average employee household on Medicaid is 2.02, so let’s assume two adults. FPL for 2 adults is $20,440. 138% of that is $28,207. Assuming 2000 hours worked per ear, that’s a hair over $14 an hour, or $2 over minimum wage.

You think that’s out of the range of possibility for 9,000 people to be working for that at Amazon?

Amazon Warehouse starts at $20. Go look on the internet. What about the State of Nevada, CCSD, the County? You think they are paying under $14 per hour? BS. Seems like complete mismanagement OR fraud.

Oh, to live in a world where part-time work doesn’t exist.
