The Assembly not allowing call in testimony but letting members vote by phone is an interesting play. Some amazing public comment in opposition to AB4 yesterday, including all the upset about blocking telephonic comments if anyone is curious.

The road rage shooter who killed the 12 year old on 215 and Gibson should be given death penalty, quickly

The idiot stepfather should also receive some consequences. Couple of lunatics and an innocent kid in the middle.

Traffic ticket for reckless driving? There was a specific road rage law proposed in 2024 that never made it out of committee.

Getting in an argument? Would be a serious overcharging unless there are some facts that the stepfather did anything other than roll his window down to argue.

It wasn’t just getting into an argument. “Speaking publicly about the investigation, Rader said the two drivers were “jockeying for position” while merging onto the 215 from US 95/I-11 northbound.

One driver tried to pass another on the shoulder of the freeway before they both rolled down their windows and had a “heated exchange,” Rader said. During that altercation, Rader says the suspect pulled out a firearm and fired one shot into the other car, hitting an 11-year-old sitting in the back seat.”

Then the stepfather rammed the guy’s car and was fighting with him while his stepson was either dead or dying. If either one of these Yahoos thought for a second and calmed the F down, the child would be alive. I can almost guarantee the shooter will claim self-defense. I’m not claiming it’s valid nor (obviously) that the stepfather is equally culpable, but this was an avoidable tragedy.

Road Rage Shooter – death penalty
Agree. But the namby pambys in this state won’t let that happen. Expect 15 to life (crim law attorneys, feel free to correct me), with eligibility for parole in a few years.

I’m not necessarily a fan of Carrie Cox but Monica Larson called 911 to report that her call was recorded?? I thought 911 is for emergencies…

Shouldn’t the full-time Nevada “journalists” have reported the story that Fortune magazine reported? How is it that they get scooped on the biggest stories on their own beats time and time again by the out-of-state publications? The locals ought to be the ones with the best inside sources. Do they learn about this stuff and just not publish it, or do they just not learn about it? Either way, massive fail.

I feel like I’m going crazy every time I think about the Boring Company. Why don’t we have a train? Why are we using cars if it’s literally just a straight line route back and forth? Why are we having a man with no infrastructure experience dig under the most valuable land in the state? How is this whole thing not just an insane fire hazard??

Is anyone going to run against Bill Henderson in family court? We need to get him off the bench.

Dan Hooge is giving a CLE on flat fees as I type this.

Someone just put this in the chat:

This is still on the NV bar website: “• Earned-on-Receipt Fee
This fee is earned on receipt and will not be billed against on an hourly basis. It will not be
deposited into our client trust account, but will be deposited into our general operating account.
Even though the fee is earned on receipt, you may nevertheless discharge us at any time and in
that event may be entitled to a refund of all or part of the fee based upon the value of the
representation.”

Well if the Legislature can’t be bothered to update the NRAP on its website, why should the State Bar update its website?

On the flat fees. OBC has got its HUA.
There is a right to contracts. Said it before, the SC case was a simple overcharging matter, but OBC pushed it against a method of charging fees that was at one time widely regarded as benefiting the public by making legal services more accessible.

Dear Members of the BOG:

I am willing to give you the benefit of the doubt. Last night at the Vegas Golden Knights game, there was the post on the JumboTron of you all congratulating yourselves for attending the game (that is $75 so small change). This was followed by you appearing on the Jumbotron in your custom hockey jerseys with the State Bar of Nevada logos on the front. So BoG– who paid for the game, the congratulatory message and the custom hockey jerseys that you showed? Inquiring paying members want to know.

to be fair, sometimes if you rent a suite or a bunch of tickets they will give you a free message on the screen. That doesn’t explain the jerseys though. Or the annual boondoggle.

I hope they only $75 of our money patting themselves on the back rather than renting a suite with our money.
