Thrown Under The Bus

  • Law
  • The Supreme Court of the United States ruled section 4 of the Voting Rights Act unconstitutional. [Washington Post]
  • Tomorrow morning at 7:00 a.m. our time, the Supreme Court will issue its rulings on Prop 8 and DOMA. The best way to follow it live is at the Scotusblog.
  • In the HOA Scandal case, Chris Rasmussen said in court yesterday that the FBI investigated county commissioners and said that some politicians “will be thrown under the bus.” Anyone have any clue who or what he’s talking about? [RJ]
  • As mentioned previously in the comments, it has been suggested that Half Price Lawyers was sold from Adam Stokes to Glenn Truitt? Can anyone confirm or deny or provide details? The firm website and NV SOS page still reflect ownership by Stokes.
  • Yesterday, Nevada Judicial Watch (@Nevadajudiciary) tweeted the following concerning ex parte communicating judges. For easy reference, click here to view Nevada Judicial Canon 2.9 on ex parte communications. What do you think about this tweet? Is it true, false, missing a few judges?

Purely hearsay here (DISCLAIMER), but I heard that the Stokes' had a rather expensive divorce in which she seemed to have gotten the upper hand. The sale of the law firm is no doubt related.

NevadaJudicialWatch has what evidence other than rank allegation. I have no problem with holding jurists' feet to the fire but how about some evidence?

Of course this is the same Twitter account which in the last 24 hours has suggested the following judicial candidates:
–Aaron Grigsby (are you kidding?)
–Tracey Eglet (because there are not enough questions about influence from that firm on the judiciary?)
— William Horne (he could become the first person to be in both the legislative and judicial branches simultaneously because there are no separations of powers)
It is hard to taken anything this account states seriously with such recommendations.

Why would they bother to bribe county commissioners in the HOA scam? Commissioners do not have any jurisdiction over HOAs–they are governed (sorta) on the state level.

Read the billboards. Glenn is the proud owner of the franchise rights for Clark County.

Glenn is also the President, Vice-President, and Treasurer of Stokes & Stokes, Ltd.

Now, I don't know if he franchised the firm like he was opening up a Burger King, but it seems like he bought out the practice, just like Richard Harris did earlier.

As an attorney, Stokes is mediocre. Nothing special coming out of that office. But as far as marketing and business development goes, the man is a stone-cold genius.

Adam's dad is Half Price Dental, so no genius there.

The most pressing question I have for Glenn is: Line, square or swing?

Joke on Glenn all you want @7:47, he's now the proud owner of a multi-million dollar business after buying out the three former owners. And he's a super nice guy (and kick ass line dancer) to boot.

Judicial Watch:

Please add federal judge Robert C. Jones to that list. Deprivation of due process! Throw out the Constitution!

Every time there's an HOA case, Jones snags it from other judges. Jones lets fraudulent foreclosure and embezzlement slide in his court. He's a crook.

They should also watch bankruptcy receiver Eugene J. Burger. Burger had federal criminal indictments and committed possible bankruptcy fraud. He was also a securities broker. I smell a Ponzi.

Glenn Truitt is a joke who ran the firm into the ground. (my opinion)
