Liberals are blind to reality. Hey, Trump f-ing won despite his craziness during the campaign, and he actually won Blue States not just the Red States. Republicans won/kept the House and Senate (even in the face of Trump's craziness during the campaign), Republicans have an unprecedented number of state/county/city legislatures and governorships (even in the face of Trump's craziness during the campaign). And, for the most part, only the Republicans that didn't support Trump were the ones that got defeated.
We all need to wake up and stop living in our liberal bubble called everybody hates Trump-land. Cause it's not real, we are ignoring people, and that's why we lost and why we likely lose again in 2018.
Republicans will pick up more seats in the mid-terms. For SURE more senate seats.

Why is the Legislature investigating Laxalt? (Legal question, politics is the obvious practical answer.) Shouldn't the Ethics Commission be on it?
Seems to me the Legislature couldn't do squat about anything Laxalt did, besides of course make it all public and try to derail his 2018 campaign.

This is 1:25. It occurred to me the likely answer is still politics (of course). Running it by the ethics commission risks Laxalt being either exonerated entirely or let off with a nary a slap on the wrist, which would help counter all of this in the campaign.
Running it by the Ethics Commission runs the risk that they will not get around to it until 2020.

Trump justifies the firing of the Director based on recommendations of the AG and Assistant AG. The rationale the AG provides is that the Director commented publicly on his findings of the FBI email investigation, rather than simply turning the findings over to federal prosecutors. Seems lame.
Seems pretty apparent that he was primarily discharged because of the
FBI's ongoing investigation of the Russia connections(even though Trump mentions in his discharge letter that the Director informed Trump that Trump himself was not under investigation–supposedly anyway).
That(the ongoing Russia investigation) I assume is the primary reason for the firing. The Hillary email issue may be a secondary basis, but not for the reasons Trump and the AG suggests. It's foolish to believe it's valid that they waited this many months, after the email investigation results were released, to indicate they are dismissing him due to the violation of protocol as to announcing the results of the investigation publicly, rather than merely submitting it to prosecutors. The Hillary thing, if it has any relevance, is relevant as to the actual results of the investigation, not the mere fact the Director publicly announced them rather than following proper protocol. Trump's folks did not like the actual conclusions of the investigation–essentially, that Hillary was negligent and careless, but her actions lacked criminal intent, or at least was lacking in intentional criminal intent.
Whenever either a Republican or Democrat makes such a high profile firing, we should never believe what they say the reasons are. It is always about something else.
Well my apparent conclusion regarding the firing is that James Comey was fired because he is too tall. See what I did there, I stated a fact (James Comey is friggin tall, like 6'8" tall), and then made that fact the reason for the firing without any real support, only conjecture.

I don't think my view is entire conjecture or invention–unconnected to anything rational. I do think there is a reasonable basis for my opinion, as well as differing opinions I've heard. But if I'm wrong about the reasons for the firing, I'm still convinced that these firings are usually for reasons much different than the reasons stated. They are seldom made on the basis of mere concerns over competency or concerns of improper actions taken. They are made for political reasons. No politician fires an individual for mere competency reasons if such individual is a loyal foot soldier who supports the politician's agenda.
As far as him being fired for being 6'8", you may be on to something there. Much shorter people than that(which includes just about everyone) will be intimidated when around him, and will develop a Napoleanic Complex they never knew they had.
For instance, if Herman Munster was director of the F.B.I., him being very green in color, and over seven feet tall with bloody scars and bolts on the side of his skull, he definitely would not last in the position even if he had the requisite competence. So, there is always that consideration.
I think it is now safe to say anyone who denies Trump's genius is an idiot. We are privileged to be alive to witness the greatness of a man who will be remembered as one of the greatest Presidents ever. Mr. President, thank you.
