Clark County and the City of Las Vegas have set the administrative wheels in motion on medical marijuana licensing and zoning regulations. [Las Vegas Sun]
Tom Pitaro, attorney for alleged pet store arsonist Gloria Lee, had the first (of what promises to be many) run-in with animal rights activists outside the RJC yesterday. [RJ]
Judge Adair decided not to overturn the conviction of a man who may have the subject of a family court marshal beat down in a dead-spot on the close circuit cameras. [RJ]
The Supreme Court heard oral argument on a construction defect/class action suit related to Sun City Summerlin that originated in 2003. Anyone know what the longest pending case in Nevada is? [RJ]
I agree, he was calm. If only he had said " Will you please stop interrupting me". It would have made her look like the rude one. Instead it seemed as if she got under his skin.
He can say whatever he wants. He's just that good.

We kill, what, 10-billion farm animals a year so Americans can add another inch to their collective waistline. But ALMOST injure 22 puppies and prepare to be lynched by an angry mob of nut-burgers, lashing out at an attorney who is doing his job, you know, the job guaranteed by the Constitution.
To be clear, I OPPOSE BOTH, but I'm always puzzled how truck after truck of pigs can roll by to slaughter and be ignored. But by God, you better not look crooked at a cute animal.
This gal will get what's coming to her. The DA has made that much clear. I don't see how looking stupid on TV helps the cause.

I agree with you re the truckloads of pigs and cattle. I have quit eating meat as a result. Not to the extent of no seafood or no eggs and not fanatically but you are right; I think there's truth in the idea that how a society treats its animals says a lot about its decency.

If God did not want us to eat meat he would not have made it taste so good.
And if he'd wanted you to live forever he wouldn't have meat taste so good that it leads you to an early grave due to obesity, heart disease, and cancer. (S)he's a wacky (she-)dude.
I think the saying you're looking for is "If god didn't want us to eat animals then why are they made of meat?" That said, he shoudn't have made them taste so good either.
Here's a better argument. If we aren't supposed to eat animals, then why are they made out of meat?

I think Tom had just undergone oral surgery, so I can understand being a little terse.

God gave us dominion over the animals. They have a purpose. to provide food, clothing, companionship, protection, herd sheep, run after cars, etc. Not to be abused or set on fire, and not to be dressed up in silly little pink outfits and posted on Facebook every 5 minutes. Some of these dog people are a little crazy.
Pitaro shouldn't have let the protesters get to him, telling her to shut up made him look bad.
He said please and he said it all very calmly. I lean to he looked ok.

Why do haters have to try and "correct" a saying? "I meant what I said, and I said what I meant." Dr. Suess.

Be careful with the companionship thing. I'm pretty sure that's still frowned upon.
Now that everyone can get gay married, people will want to marry their dog, cat, goldfish, snake, donkey, etc. Surely the Apocalypse is nigh.
