Perhaps I am being dense, but why are animal sales prohibited?

I’m guessing it’s because pet store sales are associated with puppy mills and stuff like that. The advice I got when I was looking for a dog is adopt from a shelter or find a humane breeder (which means $$$).

Huge animal overpopulation crisis that has led to shelters euthanizing thousands of animals.

Puppy mills, in the stores, pups not exercised, left in cages 24/7.

Five shot, Four dead in NW Vegas shooting. It will be interesting if this story involving more victims and fatalities garners the same public outcry and media attention as the UNLV incident.

Ouch. This is roughly the area where I live. No one is safe from this type of violence.

I presume that’s a passive aggressive hypothetical question about the publicity? Your posting is the first I’ve heard about it or seen about it, even though I suspect the number of people in that apartment complex is about the same number of people present on campus. The apartment shooting was probably a targeted shooting as well, just like UNLV.

It happened this morning. I saw it on Twitter, and checked the RJ and KTNV. When I saw the address (7500 Oso Blanca), I figured it was the apartment complex and not, say, the PT’s Pub.

There’s a press conference going on right now.

The apartment was a man who killed his children, an older woman, and himself. My guess is domestic violence. Wouldn’t surprise me if this was retaliation against the mother of the children for leaving him. It was not anything like UNLV.

So instead of taking meaningful action on gun violence we’re now what-about-ing mass shootings? Stay classy, ‘merika.

Seriously… what point is this supposed to be trying to make other than “wow there’s literally so much gun violence we can’t keep track”?

I took action. I bought another Glock and 250 rounds for it at lunch.

We should be so lucky. But . . . nah, we got stuck with Ford.

Because, it is totally OK that the Feds have been censoring free speech through their surrogate Zuck & Friends. We are truly living in a Brave New World.

So, we’re holding private “surrogates” to the same standards as the Government now? Should we impute Fox News multiple transgressions to the administration that was in power at the time?

Only if FoxNews was instructed/requested/cooperated to censor free speech. . . . . by the Federal Govt.

Apples and oranges, sweetheart.

That’s a legal impossibility. Either the private actor did the act or the government did. What you’re alleging is a conspiracy that cannot exist.

That’s a privately owned entity. If Zuckerberg and company want to censor stuff on their platforms, they can. It is very similar to the thwacking that goes on here. It annoys me endlessly, but it’s not my blog. All I can do is vent my rage into the ether…or start my own blog. There is no state actor forcing Zuckerberg to do anything.

Wow. You are really obtuse in your thinking arent you? Or maybe you just got out of the CSN paralegal program as a mid.

Its called a conspiracy and Feds cannot violate the US Constitution by conspiring with and directing private entities to do their dirty work.

Can you cite to a case or a law that says a private entity cannot do what it wants with regard to it’s own platform, including going along with a government request (if such a request was even made)? Also, those are not the facts of the case that OP referenced. Did you even read the article? IT’S THE CONTRAILS!!!!

What part of the State Dept. (allegedly) conspiring to censor free speech and free press do you not understand?

Paxton is a clown and this is not government censorship. Government grants funded an organization that deemed some right wing conspiracy sites as “unreliable” and so they lost ad revenue, or so they say. Waaaaaa. That’s not a first amendment violation.

Government grants funded an organization that deemed some right wing conspiracy sites as “unreliable” and so they lost ad revenue.

There’s a missing step in there. The organization deemed some sites as more risky than others, and then some *private companies* decided to stop placing ads there. Government wasn’t blocking anyone or censoring anyone. Sounds like the free market saying “yeah, no thanks”

The article on HPD is pretty damning. We want the good cops to report the bad cops and get them off the streets and yet when they do speak up, leadership protects the bad cops. Disgusting. I hope there’s a civil rights attorney somewhere on this blog taking notes. The articles names a lot of names.

A few bad apples spoil the bunch, cop apologists always forget the second part. I would have tremendously more respect for police if they would ditch the bad cops without a second thought.

Bad cops do bad things. Cops to support and protect bad cops are themselves bad cops. Chief Chadwick, your mirror awaits.

The shooter was Marvin Ray Patterson per channel 8. Looks like he was divorced and had at least 3 kids. Family court judges need to re-think this whole idea that sex offenders can have contact with their own children. IMO once a child rapist, always a child rapist. Don’t let them around ANY children. Ever.

The prelim transcript is on odyssey. I’m jaded from decades of criminal practice but not the worst sex crimes, lots of groping and several underage victims, but probably could have resolved and still had some life left when he got out.
