IT Question here. Does anyone else keep getting "Error Connection Reset" or some variation when you try to visit EDJC websites? I consider my self pretty good with computers, but I have been unable to figure out what the problem is. I use different computers at different locations (work/home) and tried all three browsers, but the problem persists. Want to know if the EDJC has figured out how to shadowban me, or if it is happening for other people.
You have to use IE, alas
(And it still sometimes doesn't work)
Trump will win, Rubio close second.
Trump will have the greatest number of votes/delegates, unfortunately. Trump's tearing down of the real conservative candidates has definitely worked. Never in a million years would I have thought it would be acceptable for a republican to call another republican a liar, sick, maniac, etc., or create such negative "brands" for his fellow republicans. Trump is the sole reason conservatives will lose this election despite it being theirs for the taking.
Trump was defending himself against attack. That is why he is popular. No one pushes Der Trump around. The Republican establishment cannot win on the merits, so they are resorting to the low life option of just attacking the man.
If you want to talk about "merits," your candidate is most assuredly not Trump. Trump's whole schtick is to make an ass out of himself and watch as his supporters bray along. What exactly is Trump running on? What are his plans, other than "I'll fix it, because I'm Donald F-ing Trump!" His positions on the issues, as stated on his own website, relies on the reader being entirely uninformed as to the current status of the tax code, trade, or immigration. But you jackasses keep braying along.
Dear 2:24: It hurts my feelings when you call me names. It creates distance between us. We should be coming together as citizens to usher in the new Age of Trump. Secure behind the wall that will keep out criminals, rapists and welfare bums, we can negotiate mutually beneficial trade deals with our friends in the world that actually help Americans, who we will then tax less because the lack of bums and bountiful trade will reduce the government's rapacious need for money.
Sincerely,
Jackass for Trump
I agree that Trump will play a part in causing the rejection of conservative candidates, but he isn't the sole cause. Many of the conservatives themselves are part of the blame. The apparent fixation of many of them on social issues that conflict the beliefs of the country is preventing the conservative candidates from advancing. Politics shouldn't be a zero sum proposition, and continuing to refuse to compromise on minor issues or advancing issues that are acceptable to both sides in order to advance issues that are unacceptable to the other side is simply shooting yourself in the foot and angering the public.
It's that anger that the Trump's and Sander's of the world are exploiting very successfully.
you are spending far too much time with the "elite." The country is still vastly against partial birth abortion, vastly pro-2nd amendment right to keep their firearms, and only just reached a plurality on the issue of same sex marriage.
Because clearly anyone who favors abortion being legal in some circumstances is pro-partial birth abortion. And anyone who believes there should be reasonable restrictions on purchasing guns is anti-2nd amendment and wants to take away everyone's guns.
What about other issues such as tax reform, criminal liability through regulations, infrastructure and technology issues, etc. Lets just keep our head in the sand and not deal with the long term financial issues of the country whether it be the national debt, future medicare and social security shortfalls, entitlements and government waste, etc. Better we put everything on hold because the other side wont concede on an issue that remains deeply divisive among the people.
It is time to embrace the undiluted bowl of awesomesauce that is the Donald. He is going to build a wall House Stark would be jealous of, and by golly he is going to make Mexico pay for it. He is going get rid of Obamacare and replace it "with something terrific." Trump's plans seem a tad vague, but Trump is still going to win Nevada because people love bread and circuses. Rubio can't balance his own checkbook (have you read about the guy's financial history? If Republicans really favor fiscal moderation, why are they so in love with a guy who has a long history of being a major spendthrift. Republicans need to send Rubio to their hero Dave Ramsay and have him cut up his credit cards). And Cruz is Cruz. Crafty lawyer, terrible political strategist, and a person it seems the more people get to know him, the less they like him. I think Trump will win, but most Mormons do seem to be drifting towards Rubio, so he will have a decent showing. Cruz in third. Kasich and Carson are just happy to sell more books.
Feel the Bern!! Boyd '13 here
More like feel the jock itch. Bernie sucks!!!
I hope Trump gets elected because it's finally going to demonstrate for once and for all that we can elect absolutely anybody and not have a profound impact one way or the other on most day-to-day issues. The only time you get a significant difference between jackass A and jackass B is with really big world events like 9/11. After four years of Trump people will be like "Fuck it, why not Kanye?"
Why not Zoidberg?
Zoidberg FTW
