I am extremely disappointed in the following Judges and Attorneys in the list below. Some of these folks I thought were friends. Some of these folks I have testified for. Some of these folks the Veterans In Politics has endorsed. Some of these folks we have exposed. Regardless of what side of the wall I thought my relationship was with the following names below.
One thing that I believe in my heart is that a JUDGE or a JUDICIAL CANDIDATE should be beyond reproached, should be ethical, should be loyal, should have a higher calling than oneself and should never ever allow themselves to be coerced, manipulated or used as a pawn for someone else’s bias.
These folks received the email that laid out their campaign managers plan David V. Thomas from Policy Communications to oust, blackball and destroy the Veterans In Politics and they made a choice to be silent!
Why? To protect themselves… I would suggest to all of them: “if you turn a blind eye or a deaf ear to corruption you are just as guilty as the perpetrators committing the injustice”
I would never ever be silent known that someone or something would try to destroy YOU!
According to sources, Thomas’ clients include two out of three Appellate Court judges, one District Court judge, four Justice Court judges including its presiding judge in Las Vegas, and four judicial candidate’s one of whom is also the North Las Vegas City Attorney.

Genuine veterans wanted to get involved in politics in order to bring veteran's issues into the public discussion. Steve-O couldnt stomach the idea of someone muscling into his territory, although noone can recall the last time ViP-Steve actually talked about issues that affect vets. This is his way of attacking folks that didnt kowtow fast enough.
So no one wants to talk about Judge Maker Dave Thomas? I can understand the issues people have with Steve Sanson, there's a host of problems he needs to address to be taken seriously, but switching support to a Thomas crafted proprietary organization doesn't strike me as an improvement. Thomas has had an entirely unhealthy influence on judicial elections and I'm increasingly uncomfortable with what he does and who he does it for, to the point that I only feel safe saying it anonymously. If the state bar had a decent, impartial endorsement or rating system maybe this wouldn't be an issue in the first place.
I want to talk about it….start the dialogue. It is a joke that the State Bar and the DOJ ignore, because Eglet has a boat load of money and judges in his pocket. Allf is the most obvious, Thomas' wife. Previous mention was made of Bare. Who else you got?
Caught the Allan Stock show on 840 AM on the copycat "Nevada Veterans in Politics." Sounds like no one is taking responsibility for the organization under questioning from the host. So this makes me suspicious that it is a front organization. Democrats? The name is too close to Veterans in Politics. Wonder if they can stop the copying of the name because it creates confusion.
Why is Alff or Bare or any other judge corrupt? Because they use Thomas? Have you ever looked at the biggest donors on elected officials donor list? The biggest donors are not Eglet. Not to mention, the maximum contribution is $10,000. Do you think any judge can be bribed for $10,000? The judges are elected and it sucks, but that does not mean Thomas or anyone else is corrupt. Just because some people don't support Veteran's in Politics does not make them corrupt. In fact, it makes them smart. Veterans in Politics does not actually do anything for Veterans. The new organization was started by someone who worked at Veterans in Politics and is actually a veteran too. Why is that when someone wins an election people don't like they claim fraud? I don't like Fiore, but it was not fraud how she got elected. If you don't like things, then stop posting on a blog and actually take action.

I note that Nathan Reinmiller is no longer listed on the Alverson page. While its not unusual for attorneys to leave there, he was a partner and has been there since 98. What happened? Where did he go?

I don't know Langford personally but I like this line from the interview: "Some attorneys drink," he said. "I put on makeup and a costume and pretend. It's a great stress release. That's how I relax. It's a mental distraction."
Good for him!
More attorneys should engage in positive activities instead of drinking, gambling, snorting coke, overeating, and cheating on their wives. We are in a stressful and often caustic profession, folks. Unless we balance our lives, many of us risk harming ourselves.
Enjoy the holidays, folks. And remember that life isn't entirely about the practice of law.

What is the fuss about. Dave Thomas a campaign manager. His job is to have connections and work those connections to get his clients votes. And to ensure that his clients are endorsed by organizations that will help, not hurt, his client's campaigns. I haven't seen the email that has raised the current discussion, but based on the interesting posts that have appeared in this blog regarding Veterans in Politics and its leader's responses thereto, a Veterans in Politics endorsement appears to be an endorsement I wouldn't want as a judicial candidate.
You are right about Dave Thomas, what is the fuss? He and his partner, Ross Miller are trying to the election against Catherine Harris recalled in No. Las Vegas.
He bought a paid for about 75 percent of the judges on the bench, Eighth Judicial and NV Supreme Court. I can keep going, but was is the big "fuss." Allf is on the bench as well; his wife.

There should be a study on whether attorneys who practice in "judicial hellholes" like Clark County, Nevada, suffer more incidences of mental/emotional health problems than attorneys who practice in jurisdictions where judges try, for the most part, to follow the law. Like federal court. In Clark County.
The Lloyd George Building is certainly part of the HellHole. If you think the conveyor belt convictions in Federal Court are not indicative of a HellHole, you have a different definition of that word.
Practicing in a number of states, I can tell you that Clark County is no different from any other jurisdiction, state or federal. And the idea that Fed Court isn't part of the issue is ridiculous, except the newest appointees, Navarro and on, are making me see why you might think that.
I clerked in another jurisdiction and I'd say the worst judge we had in the building is better than at least 80-90% of the judges we have here. Judicial elections are a joke. It's a blatant shake down. I'm convinced you've got to give something to these clowns at election time just to prevent your clients from getting screwed for the next 7 years.

Not sure about criminal law, but in the civil realm, our federal judges are miles beyond our state court judges – albeit, much slower.
