Any word on the RJ's Judging the Judges?
I never responded, because why bother? Our judicial elections are just a charade.
America is all about speed. Hot, nasty, bad-ass speed. – Eleanor Roosevelt

Judge Procter Hug, who I think was the only Ninth Circuit chief judge from Nevada, died recently. And it turns out Dahlia Lithwick clerked for him?
https://slate.com/news-and-politics/2019/10/judge-procter-hug-obituary-ninth-circuit.html
Johnnie Rawlinson is also on CTA9 and she is from NV. Hug was a wonderful judge and did our state proud.
Rawlinson, while awesome, was never chief judge of the circuit. The chief gets the role by virtue of seniority and good timing (not by popular election), so this isn't to say that Rawlinson wouldn't do a good job as a chief judge or she isn't qualified. But the chief nonetheless has important responsibilities, like sitting on every en banc panel, and so it's a huge position and impressive that one of our own served the role.
Whatever happened to Stan "I'll lick the boots of any large law firm" Hunterton?
I think Stan was pretty sick when he left the Bar.
I think it was a rhetorical question.
I think Stan was a very sick individual during his entire tenure with the State Bar. Interesting that the State Bar says that Stan no longer has to list an address or telephone number at which Stan can be held accountable for the destruction that he caused.
Speaking of good lawyers, did y'all hear Ramzy Ladah of Ladah Law Firm just got a $10M verdict against Thorndal Armstrong/Polsenberg yesterday?
If they pulled Polsenberg in, they were setting Ladah up for the appeal from the get go
My understanding is Polsenberg got involved towards end of trial, so I am not sure how much he could have done at that point
Setting up someone for appeal is funny. Reversals are so common you are better off losing the trial and winning appeal.
Polsenberg always comes in at the end getting ready to handle the appeal…
When's the last time Polsenberg won an appeal?
