I had a case once where someone forged a lease (obvious because the property owner was dead already at the time of the purported signing) and metro would not boot the squatter because they showed them the document. It was a mess.

These seem like some pretty miserable sweat shops. From what I see on the plaintiff side, I would probably add Wilson Elser to that list. Everyone I see there walks around looking constipated.

I know support staff and associates that have been prior employees (and there are many!) and they all report that weekends are a regular requirement in office, not at home! The pay is slightly above average but nowhere near commensurate with the expectations, and the work environment is full of the ego driven elitism that comes naturally from the self professed best and driven to excellence firm. Seems like just another big building PI grind house neighbored by Harris & CPK.
Pay Cut? Maybe CPK? I have always heard positive things about Craig and the way he treats his employees.
at 2:33 The ONLY reason to work for Eglet in any capacity is to gain experience in PI. If you find yourself being employed by them for more than 4-5 yrs. max, you don't know your self worth! I know! There will always be those people that think that working at the so called fictitious "prestigious law firm" some how has some type of personal value but, I have never met anyone that works there that is even remotely satisfied or fulfilled. Too much pressure… all about the money.
I made a run over to the E&P offices last week and I was surprised to see cigarette butts all over outside the front door, dents and scratches with paint chips inside the elevator, and their support staff was really unorganized and not well dressed. I did like the fake glass water with the fake plastic red rose on the table though!
2:59, Those cig butts were mine and my solo's! We always stop @ the Advocacy Center on our occasional strolls back from the RJC for a few well deserved drags so we can feel like Spader & Shatner before we return to our "Law Shack" on 9th St.!

Two years ago, a particular Plaintiff firm had a group of associates. Now they have an entirely different set of associates. Not a single one remaining. That's a firm that's worth avoiding.
I observed Sgro arguing a motion the other day and was extremely impressed. It appeared he was the plaintiff counsel in that case. He did not win, but he made an excellent argument. His tone, demeanor, and delivery was impressive. I don't know much else about him or his firm, but I was very very impressed with his argument-style. I would think a jury would find him effective and given him significant credibility.
It is interesting to me how far women attorneys' fashion and style has come. Used to be that no unbound long hair was ever on display, either by prosecutor or defense counsel. Now, some defense counsel don't even show up in professional-style clothes. It's hard to distinguish between lawyer and (nonjailed)defendant. I wonder what juries, used to Law and Order, think.
2:13 you find "unbound long hair" unprofessional? I'm no spring chicken myself and consider my expectations about professional appearance to be pretty conservative but that one never crossed my mind. Are you Mormon, male, and older than Yoda?

I railed against it at the time, and thought talent would prevail over appearances. Silly me. I have learned that you need to use ALL the tools in your arsenal in court. Concur with 2:59! Their staff is not efficient. I suspect that they are severely over worked. NEVER would I work there!
