I don't know Paul Harasim but it sure looks like he just has a chubby for Steven Jones. That was not a column; it was something worthy of this blog in how personal it was. Pathetic.

What would you have written about Jones?

Writing about the offense was fine. The whole thing reads like Harasim was personally victimized by Jones. Quoting a salacious tale told by Victor Conte on the Howard Stern Show (which Conte has later said was just hype for a book) has nothing to do with Jones. That Jones did not go running to the RJ in his first 18 days out of a halfway house and home confinement does not necessarily imply he is hiding; the entire premise is ludicrous. Jones never ran to the RJ when he was on the bench.

Why would someone who spent twenty years as a dirty judge on the bench and as a con man on the street run to the RJ?

If your gonna do Steve Jones stuff, don't be surprised by Steve Jones press coverage.

Ronald Reagan tried to take over May 1 from the Labor Movement by proclaiming it as Law Day. It's not a coincidence.

Not Reagan – Eisenhower. This is actually the 60th Law Day.

The headline "Nevada’s esteemed former senator talks retirement and partnering…" shows that if you ever wondered if the LV Sun has a political lean in its news reporting, wonder no longer.

In fairness, I don't know anyone who ever wondered if the Sun has a political lean. It's still better written than the RJ. For straight down the line, I go with The Hill. I'm afraid to say that I find Fox News more reigned in with their biases than most news sources.

Any speculation or inside info as to what the Cosmopolitan had to pay in order to settle the $160 million jury verdict?

Seriously, though. Who has the inside info on what the settlement was?

On a 32.9MM settlement, you would think the confidentiality clauses which the settlement will involve might survive more than one weekend.

Wonder if he was answering the question literally – 32.9 as to Cosmo with additional amounts coming from Marquee/Tao Group

I haven't read the specifics, but was the $160mm judgment against both defendants? Or specifically against the Cosmo? It's my understanding that there were still punitive damages at issue, so I can't imagine the Plaintiff would settle the entire case for $33 million.
