Re the 20-times guy – I don't have time to sort out my thoughts – but something seems wrong – he is determined enough to take it 20x and work practically Pro Bono his whole life. In Utah they have a Cert Paralegal – IDK it just seems like there is some value to society in that guy

What are you referring to?
Her getting kicked out?
Or sex between teachers and students at Disneyland?

Dear LawDawg – This story is the equivalent of pointing to Breitbart, etc. but from the liberal POV. Please be consistent and remove this post. I'd prefer to leave all but hey, not my blog. I plead for consistency though.

11:32 – Not defending the source, but I don't see opinion here. Its not a retelling of events, but a video.

I agree @11:32. If the blog is going to remove right wing links, then they MUST remove left wing links too.

Curious how the official video of a public meeting is now derided as a "left wing link." What's next? Complaints about "Left wing links" to opinions that show the lunacy that is in the 5th Circuit? "Left wing links" to stupidly unconstitutional laws?

You have the source. You have the context. If you choose to think that original sources have a left wing bias, my friend, the problem is not with the link.

Off Topic – Dropping the MBE
There is a movement to "democratize" the bar exam, meaning they (whoever "they" are) want to get more people into the profession. Law school is far easier than it used to be, the MBE has had several changes over the years to make it easier to pass (specifically, dropping the logical reasoning questions); and now, dropping the MBE altogether. The MBE tested important but difficult points of law that are difficult to test on an essay. Give it another 20 years, and obtaining bar admission will be no more difficult that obtaining a real estate license.

And society will suffer as a result.

Dropping the MBE–Spot on 11:15 AM. Why did the Bar Examiners and the Nevada Supreme Court single out the MBE for validation study? How is law school relevant to the practice of law? The MBE was a way of life for almost all bar takers since the 1970s when it was created. Its downfall, if you will is that it allowed the examiners in each of the states and easy way out. Now with diversity instead of affirmative action we are letting folks into the profession where English is a second language and they are lacking in basic skills to write. I had a law clerk graduate of a law school who could not draft a cover letter. The average grade in law school is a "B" at most law schools. There is no doubt the bar exam has become easier. The bar exam is no longer doing the job that the law schools won't do–getting rid of those who are marginal. So now we will have a marginal bar exam and a marginal profession. I take it further than the real estate exam. It will be the like the written drivers license exam. Everyone passes.

Let's stand up and hug a BOG. Get up, and hug Nevada Supreme Court in(justices). We want to thank you for trying to flood the legal market. Can I give a campaign contribution?

Pretty clear what the goal is of the new bar exam "study" commission is–the first thing they did was cancel the MBE for July I don't think they'd even met yet.

Wtf? Please explain how the no bar commission can get away with this? This is so wrong on so many levels. Vote the assholes out of office.

It is our bar (at least it is supposed to be a self regulated profession). Why weren't we consulted about dropping the MBE?

Big changes might be coming to the bar exam nationally. The NCBE which administers the MBE will be launching a "Next Gen Bar Exam" which does not feature the MBE. In other words, sounds like the NCBE might phase out the MBE that they created. Looks like the law professors who are demanding reform are dumbing down the bar exam nationwide for the next generation of students. Maybe the law schools are the problem-not the bar examiners. https://abovethelaw.com/2022/01/new-bar-exam-will-test-future-law-grads-on-skills-actually-related-to-being-a-lawyer/

So, pay the $400 (or whatever the application fee is now), and you are admitted. Essay exams can only test simpler concepts, not nuances.
