A more newsworthy story would be: “Woman accused of not offering sex to undercover officer inside unlicensed massage parlor.”

Leave it to Bobby D to come up with the first marginably reasonable alternative theory to Telles’ guilt and to predict that the DA will move to continue the trial to “investigate” the voicemail.

I don’t know who this was, but I think we all feel this deeply (from bar counsel report):

>You and your law firm represented Client in a criminal case in the Eighth Judicial District Court. As the trial began, the Judge set an August 2, 2022, hearing to determine
whether your associate attorney was fit to handle the representation of your client.
At that hearing, Judge ordered you to remain as your associate attorney’s supervising attorney during the duration of the trial. However, you declined to remain for the trial and walked out of the courtroom despite the judge’s warning that she would issue an order to show cause and refer you to the State Bar for investigation.

>You responded: “Please do so. I’m tired of this profession. See you later.”

>Following an Order to Show Cause hearing in September 2022, Judge held you in contempt and ordered you to pay$500 in sanctions.

We all know who this was because it was discussed extensively on this Blog when Craig Mueller told Judge Clark Newberry the foregoing recitation.

Telles knows the DA is not ready for trial and wants to enjoy the summer with his family. No way he agrees to a continuance. He’s ready to kick ass.

Draskovich is doing a nice job of dropping quotable breadcrumbs for the LVRJ but he knows that this case is unwinnable and that Telles does not have the money to fund this case through a trial in which the DNA evidence seals the deal. D is giving Telles what he wants which is a mouthpiece but there is no defense here.

Reminder to make sure your Bar Dues are paid by today so that Kim Farmer and the Boardettes can take their annual vacation, so CLE folks can produce content (that they, as the arbiters of quality, will approve themselves), so Hooge can continue to cherry pick solos, and so that the noble folks on Charleston have the time and space they need to come up with new CLE requirements while cheerfully ignoring flagrant UPL.

Happy Friday.

“Man accused of attacking Judge Holthus arraigned; pleads not guilty by reason of insanity.”

Hood luck with that. He committed the act on camera just moments after a long speech (also on camera) asserting just how sane he was, what a good path he was on, and how all his difficulties were behind him.
