Doesn't suing your own client qualify under the definition of d-bag. If so, then on my opinion Adam Kutner falls under the definition.

"'For Mr. Kutner, as for any attorney, professional reputation is a valuable and important factor in developing and maintaining a successful law practice,' according to the new complaint."

That may indeed be true. But don't the comments relative to, and prevailing perception of, Kutner's "professional reputation" speak for themselves? In other words, how can someone's honestly-held opinion regarding Kutner's professional reputation be defamatory? Serious question.

It is doubtful that Kutner will win this lawsuit. And he may in fact draw more attention to the very comments from which he seeks to distance himself. He'd be better served to redouble his level and quality of service toward his clients and the legal community at large. What is the best he can expect by filing lawsuits to remove comments from the internet?

Can't believe you're linking to that bullshit smear job by Veteran's in Politics. How do I know it's bullshit? Because it doesn't provide any details (party names, date of the hearing, etc.) that would allow a reader to verify the account in the "article." I do not know why so many judges kowtow to that organization, but it makes me think less of every person that goes on the radio show. Khamsi's doing a good job, especially considering what a horror show the civil docket is in Justice Court.

While I probably wouldn't seek VIP's endorsement if running for office, I appreciate you posting the link. VIP provides a service to the community. It is just one perspective, but it creates an opportunity for discussion and allows for a counter-perspective to be voiced when people disagree.

I don't have any respect for anybody that wants to jump on a blog and talk shit about me or anybody and hide behind an anoymous name. If these folks can't reveal their name because they are scared that they will lose their jobs then don't post anything. If these individuals are jealous because my organization has a platform and they don't. Too bad, that's from years of hard work and unaffraid to take on controversial issues with our names attached. We know our stuff, we investigate and we educate. Some people don't like what we say, too bad. Not everything is glamorous. The people that received our endorsement, that's because they earned it. We are the only organization that has a panel, moderator, video tape our endorsement interviews place them on social media for all to see. With a disclaimer if you don't like who we endorse, then educate yourself. The people that don't like it never been endorsed by us, don't like who we endorsed, was kicked out of veterans in politics, or exposed for the piece of Crap they are.. When we have a problem with someone they know about it. We don't backstab and smile to your face.. Fear is not part of our vocabulary if we had fear we couldn't have defended this country. Some of you are jealous of the fact that we wore the uniform and you didn't. Some of our members never wore the uniform but they have a lot more backbone than many of you that hide behind anounimous postings..

Agreed. As long as you change "earned" to "paid for".

It's nice to see a judge who is at least a little reluctant to throw her weight around.

My favorite part of Veterans in Politics is the Canadian representative. Why is there a Canadian contingent of US veterans presumably involved in Canadian politics? Makes perfect sense for those wing nuts. The crazy dude is Steve Sanson and he's been here before. Bita is an excellent JP who was given a raw deal and has to clean it up, you can't hate her for dealing with that zoo. Samson is just butt hurt he didn't get what he wants.

Instead of coming to this website and bitching about the fact that those who leave comments are anonymous (which has long been the tradition of the blog), why don't you spend your time cleaning up the Veterans In Politics website. It looks like it was made by a middle school student in 1997.

Stevie is a middle school dropout, which explains the middle school level website. No one needs nor wants your endorsement, idiot. No one would knowingly associate with someone of your caliber. I agree that Steve doesn't speak for veterans at all, and he disgraces the name when he goes on the attack as "veterans in politics". It's a joke. I've met very few actual veterans or politicians that respect this guy. He is a self promoting criminal trying to make a name for himself so he can run for something coming up. He wants something for nothing, or you end up his enemy and he bashes you on his "show" or spams every Facebook page with his illiterate blog. Learn who your real friends are Steve, because they aren't the reputable veterans groups, and they aren't the reputable politicians.

I think the PTSD comments are out of line. Regardless of what Steve's behavior now, he did serve in the military and that act deserves some respect. PTSD is a real ailment that veterans suffer from, not a joke or an insult.

That said, it's my opinion that Steve is a bully. Look at the comments in this thread. Are our elected judges really comfortable associating themselves with someone like this? Apparently so. And that is very sad.

Steve, I believe everybody appreciates your service, that should not be discounted. But your ad hominem attacks on a judge many of us know and respect diminishes you in our community. I don't know the case at all, but Bita is not one who throws around contempt like you throw around your patriotism. I just wish you'd be more judicious in your opinions, they would be respected more if that was the case. Additionally, many of us do not have the platform to trash individuals that you have and so we would rather avoid losing our jobs and/or getting trashed in various e-mails you send out on a regular basis.

Fear and a bunch of emotion that sounds as if it came from a 22 year old is about all you are capable of spewing. One of your commanding officers would laugh at you as you have allowed your weaknesses to come through bright and clear. Those same commanders would laugh at your comments related to fear. You are not even close on any count, junior.

You should also educate yourself, as your childish attempts to use the English language effectively have failed miserably. Obviously, you can cut/paste, but please do so with close attention to paragraph and sentence structure, as well as correct spelling and avoidance of run-on sentences, comma splices, missing verbs, etc. BOY.

DBA's and AKA's are just that — different names for the same legal entity. Assuming your judge knows his/her law, it's the entity's legal/corporate name that needs to be correctly identified, not its 20 to 30 DBA's…

Steve,

We have many mutual friends IRL. I admire your service in the military and to the community. Let me say a few things to you that come from a loving, but tough place. You need to get it together. Whatever redeeming qualities you have are overshadowed by your boorish, rude behavior. You work so hard, but you're holding yourself back. Self examination can be hard, and sometimes painful. We are all imperfect beings, that's for sure. But might I suggest a moment of introspection where you can be honest with yourself in a way that will let you escape barriers holding you back – barriers that you built? Imagine what you could accomplish if you kept your hard work and zeal and dedication to the community but abandoned your insecurity and the vicious, puerile attacks that flow from it? Just food for thought.

Carry on, my friend.

I think they should have picked someone who has a background in civil law. Dept. 6 is a CIVIL calendar. Judge Bita Khamsi is still handling it from her wheelhouse, which is criminal, and as a PD for years, at that. No offense, but it IS a different "handle." They should have changed Dept. 6 to a criminal calendar for her, and then given her time to take on a civil calendar so she could continue shadowing the other JP's, which she did for the first few weeks. It takes more time than a few weeks to get into the issues civil cases present, and vice versa for a civil lawyer coming into a criminal calendar.
