Mandated vaccines. Not a fan, but I get the complexity of the issue, although the political complications are troublesome, but they seem to be imbedded into the decision making so no use arguing through that at this point.

As far as complications arising from being forced to take the vaccine, what would the legal recourse be? Is the offering of a weekly negative test enough to dodge liability? I could see a future big-payout Eglet driven class action on this one, but maybe I'm wrong.

You shouldn't allow Covid sick folks illegally migrating to the States with Covid, fly them into different portions of the states without ID. Did anyone get vaccinated for polio/chicken pox when you were a kid? Did you ask every kid in college and/or person you worked with whether or not they had it your entire life? Bug off. #mybodymychoice

Actually schools do require certain vaccines. Other places do also.

When I was a kid, there wasn't a chicken pox vaccine. It there had been, I would have happily gotten it rather than getting the chicken pox as I did. And you had to show proof of vaccinations (for the ones that existed at the time) to go to my public school. It's only "your body your choice" when your choice doesn't potentially and likely affect others. That is the price of living in a civilized society.

Attorneys deal in evidence and facts. Only a non-attorney would make the false statements at 12:57. Again, unless you are an attorney, law student, or paralegal, STAY OFF THIS BLOG! Go port your nonsense over to Parler or Faux Newz.

Off topic: Is there an attorney portal for Las Vegas Township Justice Court, such that copies of e-filed documents can be downloaded, like there is in the Eighth Judicial District Court?

Not to the best of my knowledge. Sadly needed especially since there are so many pro se filings for which no service is ever properly completed.

If you can get someone down there on the phone, which is hard, sometimes they will email you a document. Otherwise sending a runner is the only reliable way I've found.

Yes there is. You can get the instructions right on the justice court website. It has its own button. Something portal.

My only Justice Court cases are evictions. I never receive an Answer or any motion in the mail. I have always had to go in person or send a runner — in every Justice Court in the County.

Paralegal here.

This is a paralegal question.

The Justice Court has two payment systems they have implemented for Law Firms. 1. a draw down account where you send a check for a specific amount and use that to pay for the fee. 2. A yearly account fee of $150.00 for unlimited access.

My boss chose the draw down account. When I need copies from the LVJC, I email my boss's draw down account number with a filled out draw down account form to recordsc@clarkcountynv.gov and request the records I need be emailed to me.

Then I wait a few days while they ignore the request. Then I send a follow up email asking politely when they think they will send me my docs and they show up soon after in my inbox.

There is a drawdown account application form available from the LVJC Clerk's office and a Drawdown account request form for documents that is not well designed but it is what they require.

Hope this helps!

Paralegal here again:

3:19 – Thanks for the information. There is a button that takes you to a Justice Partner Portal. There is no information I can find on how one becomes a Justice Partner with a login. I have asked for clarification from the Justice Court IT dept. and I will post here with what I find out.

Years ago, I was an extern with the DA's office. We had full digital access to the e-filings at Justice Court. Criminal, civil, it didn't matter. I've wondered since why that same access wasn't made available to anyone else.

Dear Blogmaster, I have a polite, respectful question. I saw the article you posted about naming in the justice center in Lyon County for Trump. I politely commented on your article about a legal matter. So I think I met all 3 criteria of a nice post. It was about your article, it was related to the law, I was thoughtful and polite. Why did you take it down? I understand this is your blog and it is liberal leaning but if you won't allow me to post a conservative comment, that is fine as I am a hardened litigator and I promise I won't cry. Once again, it's your blog. Should I not come back or am I welcome here with differing thoughts. I will respect your decision. Thank you

Dealing with some real asshole attorneys recently, young and old. Nevada all of them. Stupidity personified to treat another attorney like shit.

I was making this complaint to my non-attorney sibling (NAS) who is quite perceptive in areas of interpersonal communication. After telling NAS a few stories of recent incidents, NAS speculated the wear and tear of the pandemic and all the nonsense of the past 15 months (political strife, etc) have everyone a bit frazzled and on edge. That is probably true. I have dealt with more unreasonable shit from counsel the past couple of months than in my entire career. Let's all try to be a little more patient and understanding with each other, ok?

Every time I have tried to be decent to other attorneys, it has come back to bite me. Confirm everything in writing and don't do anyone any favors unless it benefits your client.

What fascinates me is that so many trained officers of the Court are advocating forced vaccination for American citizens with an mRNA treatment that does NOTHING to stop contraction or spread of a virus with overall 99.8% survival rate. I've heard more rational arguments in favor of civil liberties from folks that didn't graduate high school that I'm hearing here.
