After the BS they pulled with Allf’s retirement, does the election dept think anyone wants to apply? We all know Lombardo is going to appoint DAs who don’t know how to do civil work. Yada Yada Nothing to see here. No matter how much this state claims to change, it stays the same.
What was the Allf BS for those of us not in the know?
The judicial selection commission took applications for her position and told everyone there would be a special filing period even though that’s not what the statute says. Meanwhile, Clark County had it open for filing during the regular judicial candidate filing period and two people filed. Neither of those two had applied for appointment, none of the 7 who applied for appointment filed to run in the election creating a mess. County said that it was an error that it was open for filing. https://www.reviewjournal.com/news/politics-and-government/clark-county/county-erred-in-letting-candidates-file-for-district-court-seat-2984133/?utm_campaign=widget&utm_medium=topnews&utm_source=news_politics-and-government&utm_term=County%20erred%20in%20letting%20candidates%20file%20for%20District%20Court%20seat
Can someone explain this in a way that makes sense?
Does anyone have an update on the appointment process for Escobar’s seat since only 1 person applied?
The committee declined to reopen the application process. The governor will be submitted one applicant for review.
So the governor either says yes or no to the one applicant. Ball’s in his court.
Who was the applicant?
It was a DA.
Even judicial selection has stopped pretending Lombardo’s appointments are based on merit or that he will consider non-DA options.
“Is it a DA? Ok, pass her on.”
