Totally unrelated to above topics. Looks like I will be out there looking for new employment in the coming year. I haven't updated my resume in quite some time. Can anyone recommend a preferred website for attorney resumes? Would you recommend hiring someone who can help with drafting an excellent resume?
If you have not sought employment in while then that means you have been practicing for while. My recommendation is put together/update a simple resume that contains your firm and practice areas and mine your contacts of opposing and co-counsel with whom you have dealt. For example, if you are a 10 year attorney, I am not going to hire you unless (a) I have heard of you and (b) you can show you were a go-getter in whatever jurisdiction you are moving here from and I would have heard of you if I worked in that market. I don't care what your resume looks like (with obvious demerits for spelling, grammar and brutal inability to write).
Sorry to hear. Hang in there. Curious, is your firm downsizing? Government budget cut?
I hear the public defender's office is hiring…
CME ECF breach, and I have to wait an hour to print a 2 page document 5 times to get charged for it. I love federal court.
Federal court makes the RJClook like the Ritz Carlton. Federal Court is a dump headed by Miranda Du.
Tried printing out a 5 pager last week on cme ECF and gave up. Yes, federal court is a joke. Been in front of Du once, it was enough.
Shameka O'Neill.
You can have a civilization or you can have XXXX people
But you cant have both.
Apparently after that hearing, O'Neill texted “As for that fine — straight cash homie,” O’Neil texted later. “Bottomline don’t disrespect me and try to humiliate me in front of my client and other professionals then think I’m going to sit there and take it whether you got on a robe or not I’m a person just like her I’m not her child nor do I work for her get respect and I give respect. Period.”
Also unrelated to the above topics. I really enjoyed the posts yesterday speaking fondly about some of the attorneys we have lost. I was particularly happy to see that Pat Murphy — who was a great attorney, a better person, and taken far too young — has not been forgotten. If the Blog is accepting nominations for a "Gone But Not Forgotten List", I nominate Dick Mauer. Dick was a great attorney, had a larger than life personality, and those of us fortunate enough to know him still feel his loss. Any other nominations????
Gordie Fink. Bill Smith.

John Mitchell "Mitch" Cobeaga
. . . and screw you, too, 11:31. Obviously someone who Mitch's group was not able to help.
Even as opposing counsel, Mitch was a gentleman.
11:31 I am sorry whatever bad experiences that you had. Mitch was a gentleman and a hell of a litigator. Did he have personal demons? He did as do I suspect you do also and certainly I do. He never turned down the chance to help in my experience, regardless of the nature of the assistance. If Mitch was not that person for you, I hope you found someone who served the role for you that Mitch served for so many other lawyers in this town.
I was on the other side of Mitch Cobeaga twice in my career and I have nothing but fond memories. He was a strong advocate and a true gentleman. I also respected the fact that he didn't try to hide his battles with addiction (Mitch didn't pretend to be better than anyone else when it came to being human).
Bill Smith, that's a name from the past. I miss him.
Pat Murphy, James Jackson, Christopher Curtis.
I don't know any of these deceased attorneys, although I had some limited interaction with Bill Terry. Still, I love reading these comments. I want to conduct myself as an attorney so that when I die, people remember me like they have Bill Terry this past week. Well done, Bill, thou good and faithful legal advocate.
When I die, I hope they say, "Wait–what? She was an attorney too?"
I think it is sad that we judge out value on what other attorneys think of us. Most of us including me asdhokes
Our…are assholes
2:28,
I agree. We should not judge each other on our respective assholes. Let us judge ourselves by the kind of motions we could have filed, but chose not to. For example, two Texas attorneys filed a case in which they asked the US District Court to enjoin every Member of Congress from taking any legislative action at all, enjoin the enforcement of their electoral ballot count, and order Trump, as the "only lawfully and constitutionally remaining federal officer" to take all necessary actions to "preserve the lawful and orderly continuity of government."
I mean, as assholes go, that's a big one. But again, let's not use that as a means to judge people.
Here, here 1:43!
Congratulations to Harold Gewerter for being nominated as assistant secretary for health for the U.S. Secretary of Health and Human Services.
Huh, I thought that was Rachel Levine.
6:12 HAHA I am dying. Good stuff.

Does the State Bar provide a list of deceased attorneys?
Every year there is a memorial service for the attorneys who have passed in the previous year.
The 2020 attorney memorial service was recorded. See https://www.clarkcountylawfoundation.org/news-events.html
Except for 2020 when it was cancelled.

what is this?
Looks like a legal malpractice action from Grant McCandless v. now Judge Rhonda Forsberg.
Just remember, the media loves Sigal Chattah
