The Supreme Court must immediately identify and disclose the "unidentified developer." Transparency keeps government honest, something our juiced in courts have struggled with over the past. No more back room "friends of the court" deals please!

"Hardesty said moving to the new structure would save $500,000 over the next 20 years." That's only 25 grand per year, the Supreme Court spends more than that per trip to the State Bar Convention and other travels, robing ceremonies or even health insurance benefits packages PER Justice. Stay where you are, they built a lavish courtroom on 17 just for you, and you entered a binding legal contract until 2025 for the space.

I'm sure the Eighth Judicial District Court would love to open up another floor of court rooms instead of leasing space in the Phoenix building.

I wonder what the cost of converting the 17th floor to regular courtrooms would be? Of course the savings from not leasing space may pay for itself in a year.

They still have to lease the space, just not from Clark County.

The building would be built adjacent to the federal court building according to the article. The only space that would be adjacent (rather than across the street) would be adjacent to the new federal building housing the U.S. Attorneys office. That would be the land owned by Goodman and Palazzo-the old English Pub.

It's Ross Goodman, not Oscar or Carolyn, who owns the property, if that makes a difference.

I have a feeling that attorney Stephen Stubbs comes in at a close second to Barry with complaints at the bar. Stubbs currently has several felony charges against him as well as gross misdemeanors. I believe it is just a matter of time until Stubbs is doing time. The Law Offices of Levinson & Stubbs may be a union soon.

The Phoenix Building is owned by Clark County – but not the valet parking garage. The Phoenix Building also doesn't have good security for any of the Judges who have their courtrooms there – but they also have an entire 7th floor that is totally empty. The building is also in really good shape for being 30+ years old; the feds used it for years as a courtroom but the technology in the courtrooms isn't really up to par. Anyone who has ever had to argue in the courtrooms on the 11th floor is aware of the horrible acoustics!

I've been trying to get them to update my address for the four months leading up to this announcement. I suppose they've been too busy using my $450 building new digs and throwing a party.

For about 6 months prior to this "downtime," they were never updating attorney addresses anyway. It's a joke; it honestly is.

Has the state bar ever promoted anything in its history as much as it has promoted the BSA conference? Ugh. Enough already.

Gordon Silver finally updated the website to show the current roster of attorneys. They are down to 20 attorneys in the three offices.

So what does it say about the people who were left behind? We don't want you? You're not in our practice group? They can do their own thing? I don't know much about the remaining people except for the IP Group that came over from Lewis and Roca. I'm sure they will be fine.

Okay, I am confused, did G&S dissolve? I thought Gordon went on his own, and so did Silver. Please clarify.

They did. But G&S is a corporation, independent of the individuals. It remains, just as if Gordon and Silver were dead.

4:24 – Those left behind – it doesn't say anything about them. Speaks volumes though for those captains of the ship that jumped from the sinking ship into the dinghy not giving a shit about their employees, void of any responsibility.. To those left behind – hope you can appreciate your good fortune to have been left behind.

Word on the street was that GTG went around and hand picked the people they wanted to start their new firm. I'm sure they approached the rainmakers first, then the minders, and then selected the grinders from the talent pool. The criminal defense group and the IP group didn't need GTG, so they must have declined and/or had a better opportunity.

Does NRS 89.040(3) apply? How could Gordon & Silver actually operate without either Gordon or Silver?

I don't think so. NRS 89.040(3) requires that the LLC include "the last name of one or more of its current or former members." How many law firm names consist entirely of dead people?

Now, from a business perspective, it would be embarrassing to explain. It would also display a stunning lack of self-confidence of the remaining shareholders.

NRPC 7.5(d) says "Lawyers may state or imply that they practice in a partnership or other organization only when that is the fact." also 7.1 could be violated by being materially misleading.
