The courts are closed today in observance of Veteran’s Day. Hopefully some of your offices are closed as well. We would like to take this opportunity to recognize the service and great sacrifice of the many veterans in our community. Thank you to you and your families.
Our office is open in a tradeout for the Friday after Thanksgiving.
Pursuant to NRS 236.015, the Friday after Thanksgiving is a legal holiday called "Family Day." You're getting hosed.

At the risk of sounding snarky, you must be a government employee to think that just because we have a law establishing when government offices must be closed that it has any bearing on if or when a private business must be closed in observance of a "holiday." Plenty of businesses close only one or two days each year, and many of them not even then. Only in government does a holiday falling on a saturday mean we take of the previous friday, and for sunday we get the next monday. As a business owner I work, and require my staff to work, many of these "observed" days because there is work to be done and money to make so I can pay my taxes and enable the goverment to take paid holiday days off.

A little snarky, but I generally agree. I don't have a problem with government employees getting days off but it doesn't mean I always do.
I like days off as much as anyone but when you have bills to pay and you work for yourself you'd better go to work.
Not snarky the slightest. Our firm policy is that if both State and Federal Courts are closed, we are closed. Nevada Day? Open. Day after Thanksgiving? Open. If you get "Family Day" off, good for you. But its not a "hosing" that small businesses (yes most law firms are in fact BUSINESSES) remain open.
'm just glad this is AMERICA! So if "less than desirable" bosses want to force everyone to work on holidays, they can do so. Or, if employees think that sucks they can work for a firm or agency that values the importance of family and has those days off. See- this is great!
@8:02- I could not agree with you more. God Bless America where you can make 6 figures and work Veterans Day or 5 figures and spent a bleary November Day not honoring any Veterans. Freedom Baby, Yeah!
