"First, legalizing the sale of marijuana for recreational use will harm children, affect public safety and increase government spending on social services."

Says who? I feel like I've been hearing this (along with "gateway drug" for 40 years. I'm tired of being told that marijuana, porn, and sleeping with whoever the fuck I want in any position I can talk them into are damaging society, let alone myself, but I'm ESPECIALLY tired of being told it over and over again by parrots.

I love in one of the states that has legalized marijuana and work in criminal defense (used to live in Nevada). Crime has gone down, our jails are not as full, and our police are no longer worried about busting people carrying small amounts of a plant. These kind of scare tactics are total BS.

I agree with 8:41. Also, I have been to CO numerous times and can't even think of one time seeing someone smoke MJ in public. Then I realized most MJ smokers take it home to smoke and veg out, as opposed to cigg smokers who smoke outside during breaks. if we can sell viagra and cuba cigars, why can't we sell MJ? it makes no sense

8:41, you clearly haven't been to downtown Denver.I travel there all the time for work. The 16th Street Mall, which was one of the best shopping and walking areas in any city, has changed dramatically. There are so many more vagrants, homeless, pan handlers, and people smoking MJ. You can smell it being smoked in public.

Objection. Foundation. Speculative. I grew up in Denver in the 80's and downtown was a mishmash of money and poverty then. That it's worse now is anecdotal at best, and even if it were blaming legal pot is unfounded.

I am not grown up but lived in Boulder in the 70's and 80's including high school. People openly smoked weed everywhere like on the mall or at CU football games and even sometimes in my high school. They also did blow almost as public but kept some of that in bathrooms at bars.

@9:05 – Really? Can you name an attorney who has tried more civil cases to verdict over the past 30 years than Gentile? I'm not Gentile; but I am sick of the never ending stream of unqualified attorneys who somehow become District Court judges in our court. It would be nice, for a change, to have a qualified and seasoned litigator on the bench. How do we keep ending up with lightweight judges like Miley?

Has she actually "practiced" in Nevada. Plus the rumor is she a DINO. Only flipped her party affiliation to run against Johnson.

Hey 1210 and 1259 — Have you READ Gale's wacky "Battle Born" Personal Statement that he submits every time he applies to be a judge? Bruce, next time (and there will most certainly be a next time where you're concerned), try to write something that at least sounds coherent. Then maybe you won't be a laughing stock.

Showed up at a CPK party wasted about 9 in the evening several years ago with 1000 flyers for his election shoving them in peoples hands. Of course they were all thrown on the ground within seconds. This! Just because somebody has a lot of trial experience doesn't mean they are good. Going to trial that much can mean you take a lot of cases that are questions of fact, or that you don't work up your case to win on MSJ. Plus, I care much more about judicial temperament, intelligence, and work ethic.

All three of these candidates are Insurance Defense attorneys. Jones does Gen Liability Defense for Lewis Brisbois, Gentile runs his boutique shop being defense whore for anyone that hires him, and Rodriguez is a member of the DRI, which is the defense bar group. I wonder if its on purpose that only defense bar attorneys were selected?

I don't disagree, but would only point out from experience that ID attorneys are not necessarily friends of the insurance industry once they've been unshackled. Sometimes it is the case that nobody hates insurance companies quite the way that a defense lawyer does, particularly one who came up in the pre-bean counters and billing codes days. Also I think Gentile has done some work on both sides, and his experience with the give and take that needs to happen to get a trial done is a positive. But with that said I would have liked to have seen a little more balance on the list between plaintiff and defense background.

WHAT???? No way the NBA allows a franchise to even consider relocating to Vegas! Basketball is the very easiest game to put the "fix" point shave in! Does anyone remember the NBA ref compromised by the underworld types who called phantom fouls-excessive free throws for the favorite team to cover the spread and for the over to hit! Not to mention a player on a guaranteed marginal NBA franchise team talent wise that would relocate in Vegas missing shots to effect the outcome. No doubt, and no argument Richie "The Fixer" influenced the Reheld games even before you could bet UNLV in the local Sportsbooks in the early 90's. All this garbage about how sportsbook gaming is so highly regulated now and sports wagering fixing doesn't happen BS! The NHL team here is already a flop! We don't even have a freaking name! Stop all this nonsense about Vegas coming of age and being this great evolved metropolitan community! Vegas is a whore in the desert populated by dysfunctional self destructive displants from around the U.S., Third world minimum wage gaming corporation servants and a small contingency of LDS here to take economic and political advantage of the underclass as supported by the elite entertainment pumps such as Wynn, Adelson, and Murren etc….
Vegas residents can not only not afford going to professional sports events due to the "Vegas premium" placed on tickets for such….but, Vegas residents aren't going to change their entertainment choices of cashing their paychecks on Friday at the local gambling hall for a free spin and a free drink and all of a sudden go down to the Strip and blow $400-500 on attending a Las Vegas pro sports team game! UNLV will never average more than 25K attendance for football and no way that UNLV ever joins a power 5 conference! 1990 UNLV NCAA Championship was bought and paid for! Jerry was a vicious violator of NCAA recruiting rules his entire coaching career! Vegas is a who're in the desert! I know! I've lived here my entire 59 years!

It wasn't hush hush; it was fully explained. Votes did not flip "between parties." In one race at the bottom of one machine, the electronic alignment of the buttons was off. Funny it was a "conspiracy theory" that Hillary and the DNC hired thugs to beat up Trump supporters and cause fights. But OH! It was confirmed through Wikileaks, and guess what 3, not 1, not 2, but 3 resigned! Not such a "moon landing hoax" theory was it? And the "conspiracy theory" that Hillary was sick seemed crazy until she had to be carried like a side of beef into the van. But that was just tinfoil hat stuff right? It was crazy to think that Hillary sold our uranium to the Russians…until it was confirmed by leaked emails. Oh, and speaking of emails, we were crazy to see that there was really an issue there…yeah, keep wearing blinders over your eyes while accusing those who see of pushing "conspiracy theories!" SMH. Oh, and IF YOU REALLY WANT TO SEE HOW THE VOTE FLIP WORKS, master "conspiracy theorist," Alex Jones has a video of someone showing it at the voting booth on their phone. They select Donald Trump and before your eyes, it flips to Clinton. It's on Youtube. It is also being investigated…But that's just a conspiracy theory, right?

Also a conspiracy theory that HRC received questions to debates ahead of time, in violation of rules and ethics. (Trump did not receive the same). Turns out that's TRUE! Now Donna Brazile, who gave the questions to HRC, has stepped down/been fired, after Wikileaks exposed her. If she didn't really do that why would she be forced to resign? But some have said all along it seemed that HRC was too prepared and was reading answers to the questions. So looks like the conspiracy theory was verified. Not paranoia if people really are cheating.
