My takeaway from the BoG election is that this blog is an echo chamber of a small group of disgruntled attorneys who post frequently and anonymously. Or BoG is rigged. One of the two.
Agreed the tone, tenor and issues raised suggest one or two posters supply the bulk of the comments. Apparently people are unpersuaded as 3 incumbents were elected and one who was voted out last year.
I voted for non-incumbents. U want results.

I did not post anything about the Board of Governors' elections, and I did not vote. Big yawn! I think most of us practicing attorneys don't give a damn.
If attorneys are unhappy with the board of governors they should run for office at the next election
Paying for BOG members and SBN staff and a plethora of judges to attend luxury conference in VAIL, CO and elsewhere on attorney members' dues is unacceptable. But the BOGS voting to pay for these out of state trips are the same people indulging these unnecessary vacations. Most members cannot afford to attend their own annual meeting, while paying for freeloaders to attend. As fiduciaries, the BOGs need to curtail this practice.
Would your opinion change if you knew SBN does not pay judges to attend?
Most of the judges that go get a "scholarship" from the Administrative Office of Courts, so no my opinion doesn't change.
That is a good point, but the SBN does not control the AOC.
Just for the limited purpose of clearing the record, without taking a position on merits of the program. It is not technically a scholarship that the AOC grants the judges to attend the annual conference. Rather, each judge (at least District and above) is given an annual budget for judicial education (I think it is around $2000 per year) to spend on CLE related education expenses (reimbursement based). The individual judge(s) decide which programs they wish to use the money to attend. Many choose to attend the conventions for among the reasons stated.. they get a nice vacation in a desirable location as a byproduct of obtaining CLE credits, as well as, viewing it as an opportunity to network with influential bar leaders as a marketing/campaigning event (on someone else's dime).
This AOC education budget does not, of course, contemplate any other "scholarships", "gifts", "fee waivers", etc. that others may offer to entice them to attend a specific event. Those items are supposed to be disclosed in the judge's annual financial disclosures but in my experience rarely if ever are.
I wonder if Sisolak had the Dems pass the popular vote bill knowing all along he'd vetoe it in order to make him look good. Stupid, terrible, no-good bill.
Yeah, it would be such a tragedy if we picked our president based on who received the most votes. A Republican might never rule again.
Very Republican of Sisolak.
"vetoe" – is this the subtle and hilarious Dan Quayle reference that I hope it is? Bravo, sir or madam.
Ha!
Yeah. Heaven forbid 1131am that we should actually abide the Constitution!
Knucklehead. How silly can you be?
Explain where in the Constitution it prohibits states from designating electors to vote for the candidate that won the national popular vote.
"Arrested for what???" "You'll be arrested for trespassing." "Arrested for what though?!?!"
…. some people are just too precious…
