Do you really need to ask?

Kavanaugh makes it out of committee and is confirmed along party lines. Republicans do not buck Trump.

Based on his performance yesterday, he lacks the judicial temperament to serve as a small claims referee, but you are correct in your prediction of what will happen ultimately.

His judicial temperament wasn't tested yesterday. His temperament as someone whose reputation had been publicly assaulted was tested. Anyone else would have reacted similarly.

No they would not! If that was supposed to be the measure of a man he came across as evasive and a bully. Belongs on the sideline of a high school game yelling at other parents, not the Supreme Court.

@12:30 is absolutely correct. I watched the entirety of the hearings yesterday – her and him. He was entirely appropriate given the accusations against him. I felt the pain on his wife's face as well. She was compelling. He was compelling. Comments that his statement reflected on his judicial temperament based on yesterday are absolutely unfounded. His judicial temperament is established by his more than a decade on the bench. Has any attorney come forward that has appeared in front of him and challenged his temperament? No, to the contrary. Counsel appearing on both sides have praised his demeaner and his attention to the issues.

Yes, roid rage is appropriate. He yells and interrupts the women. He does not answer questions. He lies under oath. Republicans should be so proud.

12:49 excuses Judge Kavanaugh's childish behavior with a red-herring: Let someone allege something so egregious without proof like they did him and see if you don't raise your temper. This is pathetic. First of all, a Supreme Court Justice who is appointed for life is NOT just "anybody" who gets agitated when personally attacked. When you are one of the ultimate arbiters of justice in this land, you do NOT get to act out like just "anybody." Second of all, how many judges all across the country are personally attacked every single day by angry parties or counsel??? Yet we would not stand for any of them spouting conspiracy theories as the bases for their rulings or decisions. What makes this one entitled man so different? Especially when he is applying to join one of the most exclusive and powerful clubs that has ever existed in our nation's history? He's no different, and he's not an adequate candidate for the job. Not when there's a whole list of qualified candidates who have not been accused of sexual assault.

Here's why you should believe Dr. Ford — seeing how belligerent and evasive a sober Kavanaugh is when interviewing for a job on the highest court in the land, imagine how he would be with a six pack of beer in him. If he behaves as he does at this point in his life, imagine how he must have been as a drunk, hormonal, entitled, white teenage prep school boy who got to go to Yale. That leopard hasn't changed its spots.

It comes down to two female Republicans – Collins and Murkowski. I think they vote together and I think Collins has tipped her hand that she will vote to confirm (thought this was before the hearing). Still, he will probably be confirmed. Ugh!

She came off unbelievable, rehearsed, and (at least to me) fame-seeking. He showed remarkable poise, good temperament, and the ability to withstand attack that we need on the Supreme Court. I hope we get two more just like him before President Trump is done in 2024.

I read 10:58 as sarcasm. God, I hope I'm right. Regardless of Dr. Ford's testimony, Judge Kavanaugh's performance was an embarrassment to the judiciary everywhere and at every level. You'd think he was campaigning to be the Republican-in-Chief instead of to take an impartial seat on the Supreme Court of the United States.

I agree with 10:28 entirely and do not read the statement as sarcasm – mine certainly is not. She is a train wreck of a person. If a teen age boy attempting to have sex with her has traumatized her this bad – she needs serious psycho therapy. Someone has damaged that woman and it wasn't Kavanaugh. I feel bad for her being used by the dems. It's a disgrace what they did to her. Not one person backs her story. She should not be the dems poster child for sexual assault.

Based on what I saw of him yesterday, it is not difficult to imagine him doing what he is accused of when drunk. His conduct toward the women on the committee – yelling, cutting them off, answering a question with a question- was most telling.

@12:56 – his conduct was towards all dems on the committee, not just the women. They called him evil, said he's a sexual assailant, discount his established and untouched record, discounted each sworn witness statement of the people identified by Ford that swear Kavanaugh never acted in that manner, said they would do anything in their power to block his nomination, seek FBI review when they have the same evidence the FBI would gather in the sworn reports already, accepted a two question joke of a polygraph as evidence, among many many other things – and destroyed this mans life. he opened saying he may never coach his girls sports teams again, may never teach again – he's judged guilty of this borderline crime with no evidence – at all. he had the right to defend himself and his raw emotion was refreshing. I believed him and I believe each and every woman that ever worked for him who praise him – literally say he is a gem. this process is a disgrace.

Right? Pinning somebody down on a bed, holding your hand over their mouth so they can't call for help, and trying to tear off their clothes while they struggle to fight you off isn't "attempting to have sex" with a girl, it's attempted rape. And the fact that you can't tell the difference is fucking chilling.

@ first 12:56, may you personally experience the bliss of someone attempting to have sex with you the way that Dr. Ford described Judge Kavanaugh sexually assaulting her, and may you similarly find your breath cut off in the midst of said bliss by your presumably larger, stronger and heavier Lover expressing his (or her) love for you. Amen.

Per CNN: Lynne Brookes, Kavanaugh's classmate at Yale, spoke to Chris Cuomo tonight about Kavanaugh's drinking habits in college and his testimony before the committee today, telling Cuomo she and her Yale classmates were "extremely disappointed in Brett Kavanaugh's characterization of himself and the way he evaded his excessive drinking questions.

"There is no doubt in my mind that while at Yale, he was a big partier, often drank to excess.," Brookes told Cuomo. "And there had to be a number of nights where he does not remember."

She went on to relate a story about the night he was tapped into his fraternity,

"He was stumbling drunk in a ridiculous costume saying really dumb things," she said, "And I can almost guarantee that there's no way that he remembers that night."

She was clearly furious, and furious about the way he used sports as the reason he could not possibly have been a heavy drinker. As Brookes said, she and another friend were starters on varsity teams and partied hard, with Brett Kavanaugh.

"There were a lot of e-mails and a lot of texts flying around about how he was lying to the Senate Judiciary Committee today."

Cuomo tried to find some doubt in there, posing hypotheticals about how maybe he didn't drink until he got to Yale, but she had answers for that too, and was disgusted with him for it.

"Many athletes at Yale were incredibly disappointed with the performance today. and quite frankly the blatant lying," she said.

Pivoting to Chris Dudley's defense of Kavanaugh, Cuomo asked about his contention that Kavanaugh's character was squeaky-clean.

"Well, I can tell you, I didn't go to as many parties with Chris Dudley, but I do remember one party in particular where both Brett and Chris Dudley were very drunk, and they thought it would be really funny to barge into a room where a guy and girl had gone off together and embarrass that woman," she recalled. "Chris Dudley was the one that went in under the egging on of Brett Kavanaugh, and they thought it was funny."

↓ Story continues below ↓

She concluded, "The girl was mortified and I was furious, so i'm not sure he's the best character witness."

I'll bet that girl can hear the laughter even now.

After confirming that she is a Republican, they wrapped up the conversation with Cuomo telling her she should have come out sooner. Maybe so but there is still time.

Brett Kavanaugh is a lying liar. There is no reason to believe him when he says he didn't drink in high school, didn't use stolen emails, didn't help confirm controversial judges, didn't sexually assault Christine Blasey in 1982. There is no reason to believe him and every reason not to confirm him

It is really amazing to see attorneys jump to conclusions about the accuser in the Kavanaugh matter and presume Judge Kavanaugh guilty. Christine Blassy Ford's complaint was never meant to see the light of day. She wanted to remain anonymous. I don't know what she was thinking when she made this complaint. Highly unlikely any prosecuting agency would ever take such a case. The police may open a file and receive a complaint but would probably close the investigation. This whole matter should have never seen the light of day and should have died on the vine. Had she been subject to a reasonable cross examination, perhaps many would feel differently.

@12:56 here. @ 8:18 – I was violently raped. Had my pants ripped from my body and a penis shoved in my virgin 14 year old vigana while I screamed and cried and begged. I remember every detail including how I got home. That was 30 years ago. Go pray for harm to someone else and leave me to my rightful opinions. I never prayed or wished harm on anyone.

People who have been assaulted have vivid recall of the event. You know the difference if you have had the misfortune. She doesn't, because she wasn't.

Like everyone else, I am getting burned out on the Kavanaugh hearings/news. While flipping channels, I heard a news report/summary on the accuser Christene Blasy Ford.
She had no recollection apparently of the 40 year old attack until she had hypnosis and never mentioned Brett Kavanaugh to the therapist. Memory which is refreshed or reconstructed under hypnosis is questionable and sometimes inadmissible as unreliable. I was unable to watch the hearings live. Was this brought out at the hearings. Quite remarkable if it was.

Uh, just out of curiosity, what is the source on the claim that hypnosis was used? Fox has suggested it twice that I know of, but to my knowledge the therapists' notes have not been turned over and Ford didn't testify about hypnosis.
