Nonlawyers owning and running law firms is a bad idea.

A law practice owned by people who aren't subject to any ethical duties. what could possibly go wrong?

I once read that the corporation has had more effect on society than any other legal/business related concept. This will completely change the practice of law. I am not sure if good or bad (probably bad IMHO). But the legal landscape will look as different in 20 years as Vegas did after the corporations took control from the mob in Vegas in the 80s, 90s, etc.

Analogously, we have negotiated several agreements for doctors who wanted to sell their practices to corporations … and inevitably within 2 years of the sale, those same doctors come back to us seeing how they can get out of the agreements and non-compete clauses, and go back to their own practice.

Except non-competes are not enforceable against lawyers.

10:41 here. My point wasn't the non-competes. My point was that having a corporation run your professional practice is a nightmare of policies and procedures where you professional practice (law or medicine) takes a backseat. These doctors want to be able to focus on their patients and not the shareholders — that is why they want to get out from under the corporate overseers. Getting out of the non-compete is just one aspect of that.

Coverage from CNN on Pres Trump walking slowly down a steep ramp vs. CNN's coverage of Pres Biden's repeated falls while boarding AF1 today… in case anyone was looking for another example of clear bias in media coverage.

I was watching Fox News and they want Biden to debate Putin and they are actually cheering for Putin. Seems a little biased to me. Funny thing though, Biden doesn’t constantly brag and lie about how perfect he is like Trump, which may be part of the reason these clips are shown.

I want Biden to debate Putin too…dont you? Thats Pay-Per-View type spectacle I would pay for.

BTW – Remember when Biden threatened to kick Trump's a$$ behind the gym like he used in his younger days? "Cornpop was a bad dude…he ran with some bad boys…" Yesterday he called Kamala "President." (not for the first time making that Freudian Slip)

Biden is an embarrassing gaff machine that the media is doing their best to cover up for. He will be out in 2 years based on whatever the dems decide to blame. He is headed down a severe and rapid mental decline, and the media is doing their best to shield us peons from seeing it.

That's not in defense of Trump's gaffs – but we were lead to believe this is "return to normal" lol

Biden calling Harris "President" isn't a Freudian Slip, it's him accidentally disclosing the original plan of him getting elected with her as the VP and him getting removed for one reason or another and her ascending.

Riiiiiight. Because there isn't a simpler way to get her in into the presidency. You know, like nominating her to the general election instead of him.

11:56, dead on. 40% of Americans cheering on Putin to "destroy" the President of the United States." What incredibly noble patriots.

1:17 – obviously not, because Harris got destroyed in the primaries, even losing her own state of California. So no. There was no simpler way to get her into the presidency since she is so off-putting, unlikeable and unelectable.

Off topic, but Forsberg is as bad as has been reported. I've never seen a judge go so off the rails in a hearing.

Only if you are one of the people who insists on introducing evidence that Forsberg has told you is not being admitted and arguing issues that she tells you are not being tried. For some reason, lawyers think that they can push her around. Bad idea.

11:53 here – not an evidentiary issue and no one was trying to "push her around." 12:30 you might be right…I've heard horror stories. I was just really shocked at Forsberg's behavior. Wow.

She's been blasted on this blog a lot lately, but something remains unclear.

Is it the same person(or perhaps two people)who repeatedly barbecue her, in which case we can take it with a grain of salt if we choose(if it is one poster) or afford it minor consideration and discussion(if it is two posters).

But if there are three or more different posters, it arguably starts increasing in possible merit. And such is particularly true if these various comments have been posted by five or six people or more.

I've read several of the posts about her and it seems to be there are genuine gripes about her behavior on the bench. Hopefully she finds her way sooner rather than later.

The Social Security Administration just announced that Social Security recipients, including SSI and SDI recipients, will not receive the Third Stimulus payment for "several weeks." In other words, the elderly and the infirm always come last. How does this make sense?

Why does this make sense? Because those on SSI and SDI are presumably not employed elsewhere in the economy. The stimlus payments are a blunt tool to inject money into the economy, so it makes sense to target those working who are more likely to affected monetarily. As for your argument that hey "come last", come on, you don't have to look too hard for a perfect example where that is not the case (ie covid immunization).

5:54 is correct. They don’t work. Why do they need stimulus so badly? It is to help those who lost income from Covid.

Sounds like you can wait a couple of weeks for your stimulus. If it makes you feel better I don’t get a check at all.

Justice Thomas is amazing. It says much that Amazon cancelled the excellent documentary about him during black history month.
