It's about time the city did something to deal with the homeless problem. The city can't continue to coddle these clowns so they continue to crap wherever they want. If it's not comfortable in Las Vegas maybe the homeless will go back to California where they came from. The rest of you LIBS and Sisowhack cronies can go with them too!

SISOHACK's words carry weight that would break a less interesting internet troll's jaw. Especially if it's the jaw of a California LIB.

Seems like reasonable choices. Homeless person: get off the street, OR go to a designated shelter OR go to jail. You choose.

The top ten homeless cities are sanctuary cities, all led by Democrats. The top-ten “most dangerous” are led by Democrats. Kudos to Carolyn Goodman for confronting the plague of Democracts.

Huh, I figured DemonRAT Falls would have been in there. But I hear St. Libtard has the best free phones. I might just go inactive status and go vagrant it up in St. Libtard so I can get mine.

@12:35 – The problem is, that's not actually a reasonable choice for many homeless people. Shelter spots are highly transitory – a lot of them have a limit on how long you can stay there. Along the same vein, shelters have minimal or no storage for possessions and animals. So the law would force homeless people to go live in a shelter for a few days, and then the shelter policy would kick them out – leaving them in exactly the same situation they were in before. Only now they don't have their shopping cart/tarp/blanket/water container that made their life more bearable, or they had to give up their pet dog or whatever. It's a set of unreasonable choices.

And a lot of shelters won't take people with drug problems, or who have previously been 86ed for disruptive behavior. Trans people might also be forced into housing with the wrong gender, which can lead to harassment or assault. For people in these groups, the ordinance wouldn't create any kind of choice at all – it would just force them to go to jail. (Which might not be a problem if jails had adequate treatment for addiction or mental health, but of course they don't.)

The bottom line is that this isn't about reasonable choices at all. As the original poster correctly points out, the goal of this ordinance is to be cruel and unreasonable toward homeless people, in order to coerce them into leaving town. Which seems like a bad thing to me, but what do I know?

Hey 5:31
Do you have a solution? Or just someone who finds fault with any progress?
If the agenda is to have them leave town there are far cheaper ways to do that than the real and sincere efforts and the enormous financial costs that the community incurs to support programs, shelters, policing, emergency medical services, food, etc. etc.

“If this was just Joe Blow on the street, went out and killed some people and injured some people in a drunk driving accident, he didn’t have the influence and family power and money Mr. Gragson has, this wouldn’t be happening,” said Eglet.

Yeah Bob. And if he didn't have all that family money, there'd be no real reason to take such a big interest in his victims.

Bravo 9:49 AM! If the tortfeasor had a 15/30 policy Eglet never would have taken the case. So much for principle.

Enough of your BS. If he had a 15/20 (or 25/50) policy, the limits would have been tendered before the cops got to the scene. Unless it was GEICO or State Farm, in which case they'd want to dispute liability and question the ambulance bills.

This is a wonderful surprise gift from the Bar. Thank you.

Attorney Support: State Bar Program Offers 3 Free Therapist Sessions
As part of its member benefits program, the State Bar of Nevada offers free therapist referrals.

If an attorney wants assistance in dealing with a difficult life situation, such as divorce, depression, stress, the death of a loved one, a traumatic case or any other stressful incident/situation, he or she can request the name of a therapist by calling 1-866-828-0022.

The call places the attorney in contact with a fellow attorney, who will ask about the nature of your issue and provide you with options for therapists in your area who have been vetted for professional standards, as well as areas of specialization. Therapy options are available statewide and online via secure video therapy.

The initial inquiry will remain completely confidential, as will the three complimentary therapy sessions. When the therapist bills the state bar, there are no billing codes and no identification of the attorney/patient on the invoice. For more information, visit the state bar’s Lawyer Wellness webpage.

This has been around for while. However there have been some grave concerns regarding confidentiality with this program and the OBC.
