Time to talk bonuses! Last month, 44% of you indicated that you were not expecting a bonus this year. Did your expectation prove correct? Did you at least get a cost of living raise? Did you get made partner with no pay increase?
I received 2.5% of my salary, which, I'll be honest, I wasn't very happy about initially given that I exceeded my billables requirement. However, after viewing the results of this poll, my attitude is adjusting a little bit. Either my attorney friends are all liars as to their bonuses or somehow I ended up with friends who get freakishly large bonuses relative to their salary.
PI attorney — a large portion of my income is "bonus" based. This survey assumes a high starting salary, it seems.
Did anyone else hear that Lionel Sawyer is closing as of the first of the year?
@10:06 — Wake up and smell the toast burning
You sir, @10:06, are a complete idiot.
18 of them are joining Fennemore. 9 in Vegas, 9 in Reno.

The latest news on the LSC website is that they named 5 new partners last Wednesday. Odd timing.
How many did Lionel have? Looks like quite a few got left behind.
I noticed that Paul Hejmanowski is not in the list of attorneys making the move. I don't know what his situation is, but it's odd that the managing partner of LSC is not included. Is he retiring?
The LSC website shows 50 attorneys. 18 are going to FC which means 32 are on the market?
A few interesting names not on the list. Bill Maupin for one. I wonder what he is doing? Also not one single associate in LV:
Attorneys joining Fennemore Craig in Las Vegas, NV:
Samuel S. Lionel, Director
Richard H. Bryan, Director
Jeffrey P. Zucker, Director
Lynn S. Fulstone, Director
Kevin J. Hejmanowski, Director
Christopher Mathews, Director
Christopher Walther, Director
Ketan Bhirud, Of Counsel
Mark Gardberg, Of Counsel
Attorneys joining Fennemore Craig in Reno, NV:
Colleen A. Dolan, Director
Craig E. Etem, Director
Leslie Bryan Hart, Director
William J. McKean, Director
Dan R. Reaser, Director
Alan J. Wilt, Director
Paul Bancroft, Of Counsel
Courtney Miller O’Mara, Of Counsel
Katherine Hoffman, Associate
John D. Tennert, Associate
If this is the full list, I'd be really curious what is happening to the rest. It seems like there are a lot of people who've been around a while (and should have decent books of business) who aren't going to FC. While it is certainly easy to see some of these people retiring, I don't think they all would be and certainly not the younger folks who can't afford to do so. I suspect that compensation at LSC was very much a pyramid structure even for the "partners" and "shareholders."
So strange!! FC LV only has two associates and now they are adding all directors/partners/shareholders. They are top heavy
Re 5:34 PM "…pyramind…" Bingo!
The Estate Planning group is allegedly going off together, partners and associates.
Damn Mormon thugs….

I'm Mormon. PLEASE don't make the assumption that the BYU crowd represents all of us.
You expect that kind of behavior from the U (Utah, but also Miami), not the Y.
Stephen Stubbs is the poster child for an unethical attorney (he was raised in Orem, Utah and Boulder City) and has done the most damage to all the Mormons. My bonus will be seeing him put in prison………..Please Santa Wolfson, Please! LOL
And one of the few named BYU players in the story, and one singled out as doing something less sportsmanlike than the average football play, is apparently from Las Vegas.
So even the Mormons sucker face punch when they loose. What poor sports! All caught on national TV for posterity. Boo!
I loved watching Steve Young's reaction to the brawl ("that's my great great great grandfather's university, you punks!") and Ray Lewis' reaction to the U (Miami, not Utah) being singled out for thuggery.
@11:56,
Tell me more about sucker punching. In particular, I'd like to know about whether a) using a helmet to strike someone like a little bitch and b) kicking someone in the ribs who is already being attacked by 3 D-linemen counts.
Preach @9:41. As a BYU fan, the fight didn't bother me at all once I re-watched it (and found out that Memphis had already had a bench clearing brawl against Mississippi earlier in the season). Memphis clearly instigated it by charging the BYU bench.
Even so, It was an emotional game. It happens. I like that the guys stood up for each other, and that the game clearly meant something to them. Anybody hating, what would you do if your best friend was hit? You'd hit back. Having said that, I don't love the Nacua sucker punch.
