Wow! I’m not sure who/what to thank, but as you might have noticed, the Las Vegas Law Blog has been getting some much needed traffic these past few days. In fact, since last Friday, there have been almost 600 page-views and we are quickly closing in on 10,000 total hits since the blog’s inception just three months ago.
I also want to thank everyone for all the comments and address just a few things from Friday and today:
- I agree that the Las Vegas Law Blog could use a Facebook page and Twitter account. Unfortunately, this blog makes me approximately $0,000,000.00 and as long as I’m lucky enough to have a paying gig, I’ve decided to focus my limited resources just on this blog. Of course that could change at some time in the future, but for now, this is about what you should expect.
- On the one hand, I agree that anonymous commenting (and blog hosting) has the potential for abuse. However, I also agree that anonymous commenting (and blog hosting) is absolutely necessary for the free-flow of information, which is what we all come here to read. I try to manage this blog with these competing perspectives in mind, and so far, I think the commenters have done a good job at balancing them as well. That being said, if anyone a problem with a particular post or comment that can’t be addressed with a simple follow-up comment, shoot me an email and depending on the situation, I will consider how to best address the issue (See also Comment Guidelines to the right).
- Along these lines, I agree that we can’t have commenters trying to “out” “Elle.” Please give Elle a break and save me the hassle of having to delete those comments.
- @ 7:51am(8.26.11)/11:00am(8.26.11)/ 11:00am(8.26.11) – The new judges’ performance is a good topic. I’ll do a post about that soon.
- @12:34pm(8.26.11) – For some strange reason, your first post got caught in the auto “spam” filter – sorry!
- @12:20pm(8.26.11) – #3 doesn’t apply to you. That comment was funny.
- @1:53pm(8.26.11)/2:08pm(8.26.11)/2:57pm(8.26.11) – I think the CPK party is also a good topic and I will cover that as well.
- @4:36pm(8.26.11) – Did you hit a happy hour between the time when you typed the first two paragraphs and the third?
- @6:48pm(8.26.11) – Possibly – refer to #2 (above).
- @12:01am(8.27.11) – Jordan, thanks for reading, commenting, and bringing some aspect of legitimacy to the blog.
- @12:01am(8.27.11) – Jordan, don’t you have anything better to do on a Friday night at midnight?
- @8:29am(8.29.11) – Thank you, I appreciate your comments.
- @8:55am(8.29.11) – I agree. Please get on that, pronto.

Well done! Now can someone PLEASE tell us what is up with the vampire killer guy???? Seriously weird!!!
Now that Randy Mainor is deceased and Brad Mainor has (ahem) moved on, why do the Eglets continue to use the "Mainor Eglet" name for what is obviously their firm? Was some deal struck with Randy before he died? Do they feel that keeping the Mainor name on the letterhead brings business to the firm? They couldn't get rid of every last trace of Rob Cottle's affiliation with the firm fast enough. Why the delay in de-Mainoring?
because it is so enjoyable, we should also discuss Righthaven's latest biatch slappings … ahh ha ha ha!
My filter at work (ahem…I only access this on breaks and then only for work-related reasons) stopped me from viewing the Friday comments. Sounds like I missed something good having to do with sex. Drat!

This could put all the slobs who hang out and eat donuts at the court reporting offices out of business. Well, it was good while it lasted.
Squire Law Dawg – Thank you for the kind words and, actually, Jordan does a lot of work at midnight and even later.
Do not ever call me before 10:00 AM, even if you are on fire.
