I don't do much traffic, so please forgive my ignorance. I have a friend who was cited for speeding in far southwest (Mountains Edge) – but by a Henderson PO and the ticket is in Henderson JC. Is that weird?

Weird and inappropriate which is why I am doubting the story.

I'm looking at the citation on the Henderson Justice Court website right now. It says:

Place of offense: Henderson Township
Agency: Henderson Police Department
Location: Cimarron at Robel

Look up Cimarron at Robel on Google Maps and it is clearly in Mountains Edge, far far away from Henderson.

I live in Southern Highlands and last fall we had Boulder City Police running a radar operation in the community over multiple days. I called Metro and they said it was allowed, assuming the BCPD was in the area on other business, like serving a warrant. Seems a like a real potential for abuse.

I don't doubt there are cross-jurisdiction agreements between the departments allowing officers to enforce the law wherever they may be, especially in the same county, but shouldn't an offense be adjudicated in the justice court where it occurred?

Justice Court jurisdictions extend to the entire county. I don't think it's fair but it's legal. Police officers also extend to the entire state assuming they're not acting outside their dept policy.

Here's the law:
NRS 4.370
4.  Except as otherwise provided in subsections 5 and 6, in criminal cases the jurisdiction of justices of the peace extends to the limits of their respective counties.
5.  In the case of any arrest made by a member of the Nevada Highway Patrol, the jurisdiction of the justices of the peace extends to the limits of their respective counties and to the limits of all counties which have common boundaries with their respective counties.

This happened to me also, and I bitched to the city attorney, who transferred it back into LVJC. Pick your poison.

I have had several clients pulled over in North Las Vegas by the Speedway and the tickets ended up in Henderson. This usually happens after you have been obnoxious to the PO but can also happen even being polite because some officers are just cranky.

Sessions is amazing. He will make sure to deport the scum and imprison evil doers. I hope he takes it easy on drugs. It is not the pot but the man consuming it. I know plenty of pot lovers who are productive citizens. Let the states decide who can use reefer. Stay out of it, Sessions. Go after enemies of America, like Carlos Slim.

Wasn't he rejected for a Cabinet position 30 years ago for some nastiness. Time heals all wounds and memories. You are likely too young to remember what a douche he was back then. One voters Douche is another's hero.

Linda Bell is fantastic. An example of a Judge for whom I had very little hope and high complaints of nepotism who has worked her butt off to be a good Judge. She doesn't always get the balls and strikes calls 100% correct but she is pretty close and you never worry that she was not paying attention.

I like Judge Bell. She is always prepared and will actually make the hard calls, unlike most of our PI pandering judiciary. The last time I was in her court she had this sweet bleach blond hair. That has nothing to do with her capabilities as a judge, but I thought it was pretty punk rock for a judge!
