re: Apollo
Curiouser and cuoriouser said the Cheshire cat. Sisolak and a return to the good old days in Nevada politics and influence? (anyone checking public officials, bank accounts lately?)

"A state official who asked not to be named said investigators were “uncomfortable” about proceeding with the Apollo item but were overruled by Gibson, who the official says was directed by Gov. Steve Sisolak to move ahead. "

"The same official called the agenda item “embarrassing,” adding they’d never before heard a gaming control chairperson answer questions for the applicant."

11:56–you try to make it sound like you are engaging in an objective, fair-minded probing inquiry.

But what is truly occurring is very simplistic and foreordained, and your supposed analysis and inquiry is only window dressing to disguise what is really occurring.

What is truly occurring is that you despise Sisolak and most(if not all) democrats, and you seemingly are willing to jump to the most negative conclusions against someone providing they happen to be democrat.

@12:24, wow, at least 11:56 tries to make it sound like they are "objective" and "fair-minded". You, on the other hand, are so quick to defend Sisolak and most (if not all) Democrats, you don't see the issue with the Governor pressuring the GCB to push agenda items through.

12:29-sorry if I was misunderstood. I'm by no means defending Sisolak or any democrats and(for all I know)they may be involved in what 11:56 suggests they are.

That said, it is not difficult to tell when someone is all too willing to presume guilt or culpability based on whether someone is a democrat or republican.

In fact, under the current climate, it could reasonably be argued that democrats are even worse about attacking someone or assuming guilt largely because they are of the opposing party.

So, I understand your observations, but it is still clear to me that 11:56 has no real use for democrats and is all too willing to assume the worst when a democrat is accused of something. But, again, I'm making no representations that Sisolak or any others are not responsible for what 11:56 accuses him off.

But when someone is blindly shilling for one political party against the other, you can tell by the tone. And a lot of it is often featured on this blog, from both sides of the aisle.

Let's see. Governor orders an official, appointed by the governor, to overlook the concerns of a state licensing investigator. The official provides answers for the applicant during the hearing for the rich gaming operator applicant. The gaming operator's license is then approved. Governor's reelection campaign is in progress…
Nah.. nothing to see here. Move along.

You presume WAY too much. Said presumption also lets us know where you stand. Thanks for projecting and making it easier. All the OP did was call out Sisolak for a potentially corrupt intervention with the GCB. We can all easily see who the blind shill is.

That said, thou doth protest too much.

1:25-You still don't listen or read too well. You ignore the huge concession that I take no issue as to whether these individuals are guilty or not. I do not represent that the poster is wrongly accusing them. That, in and of itself, automatically establishes that I have 10,000 more credibility than you on the issue as to who is, or isn't, jumping to conclusions based on party affiliation.

I even made the additional huge concession that in today's climate democrats are even more likely to rush to judgment, and condemnation, than republicans, based on party affiliation of the accused.

So, if you wish, continue to ignore all that, and ignore the fact that the original post obviously assumes guilt based on the people involved being democrat. All one must do is read it, and it's obvious.

You guys keep debating a non-issue. Yes, it seems like 11:56 is more likely a republican than a democrat, but that hardly seems worthy of debate.

Now, the topic itself, and the details, seem to be of real interest for discussion. So, speaking of what those involved did, or didn't do, is of legitimate interest and relevancy.

But getting too distracted with the party affiliation of the posters is kind of a waste of energy.

Whatever happened, it seemed clear that Gibson and Schreck had read the Gentry article before the item was presented. They basically went out of their way to address the issues she brought up at the outset of their group presentation (except for the Wynn stuff of course).

If you watched how Gibson talked to those applicants/attorneys versus how he talked to some other applicants/attorneys on later items, it's clear he plays favorites for the big guys. It wasn't something new at this meeting though, that's how he's been since he got up there on his high horse. Up there he acts like he hit a triple but in reality he was born on third base as a Gibson in Henderson. Maybe he's not an ass when he isn't sitting as the Chair of the Gaming Control Board, but up there he sucks.

12:24, I agree it is quite unlikely that 11:56 is a democrat, but I can't necessarily discount the suspicions raised. 11:56 may be right. We will wait and see.

A wildly confusing decision issued by Nevada Supreme Court today in Thunder Properties. Truly made a mess of the law.

Ah, who was the designated panel on the Nevada Supreme Court on another prize winning opinion? You would have grimace run against any of the justices, and I would vote for them.

Clark County PIO: In an email to the court, Chief Judge Linda Marie Bell passed on sad news: "Ben Graham, long time DA, lobbyist for the Nevada Supreme Court, and father of Justice of the Peace Elana Lee Graham, passed away this afternoon. He was an incredibly kind man known for his amazing chocolate chip cookies and holiday turkeys. He embodied Santa, and not just at Christmas. He will be missed."
