The I-Team story alleging Judge Jerry Tao takes care of personal matters during business hours appears to have been removed from the website. Conspiracy theorists, start your engines!

Ryan Bundy is suing the U.S. for its standoff prosecution. [CNS]
What else is going on out there on this fine, first day of November?
I don't like her style. I don't like the way she handles herself on here, and I did read the mentioned writs. I don't want that on the NSC.

I wouldn't say it is a 'non-story' but, having practiced here for nearly 20 years, it seems this happens about every ten, i.e., Judge Soebell (sp?), Judge Vega, now Judge Tao. Interesting part is David Thomas represented Tao up until this race and continues to represent Cadish along with Tom Letizia. It is very incestuous and, I wonder, if the change has any impact for Tao beyond the obvious mudslinging.
This I agree with entirely. Look Tao was sort of a maverick who did his own thing on the District Court bench when he was there. The leaving work stuff related to him is not new. However I am not voting for him because Cadish is the better qualified person for the job.
I mean really whether Tao elevates to the Supreme Court or stays on the Court of Appeals, he still will take Tuesdays and Thursdays to get his daughter.
Honestly, with the amount of work the Nevada Supreme Court (the justices, not the staff) actually does, I don't see how taking two half-days off a week is an issue at all.
Now that made me laugh. Good point. If Tao is going to take 2 half days a week off, perhaps putting him on the Supreme Court (where he will no slower than all of the other snails) is a good idea.

Does anyone know what is going on with the Compelling Discovery Blog? Seems like it's been down for a few days.
Today my friends is a perfect example of why believing you will win professional and political points by laying yourself/your friends/your colleague bare to scrutiny on this Blog is foolhardy.

I would love to know if there were more than just two people commenting on those writs.
THE BLOG LIVES!! I just hope my friends never post about matters I would prefer to keep private here. We're all just "practicing" law you guys–it can be a tough job–let's try to be a smidge kinder and not take every thing so seriously. Just because we disagree doesn't mean we are enemies.
Nothing good comes of starting an online referendum about you or your friends on the Blog, especially in a profession which is as adversarial as ours is. I do not know this person. However the Blog made me curious so I did go review the Petitions from the CoA Portal and the Motions at the District Court level through Attorney Corner. They are not very well-written or well-argued at either level; however I get motions across my desk all of the time that are comparable. It is contract-level Associate stuff.
However I would have never known this person but for someone who professes to be "long time friend of mine from Boyd" who decided to open this can of worms. Now when clients Google her name, this page is going to come up. With friends like these, who needs enemies?
I did jot down the case numbers, and I will be reading them. I did read the complaint and her oppositions to motions to dismiss and they were all well written. The case, especially against a lender, does not get remanded from federal court hardly at all.
I just pulled up the orders. This attorney should be encouraged by the fact that the appeals court did not even specifically address the writ. They want it addressed on appeal.
I was at a conference with the attorney who wrote the writs. I finally read them as well. I know personally she did not post the writs on here, because I showed them to her on break right before they were taken down. She saw all of them. So, she was botted for no reason. As for the writs, they were proper and required and were ignored by the appellate court. I can tell you that she was thankful for the positive comments. Sorry for the long post.

I voted for Tao also. He is leveled headed and was a terrific District Court Judge. I was so disappointed he went to the COA. That being said, Judge Cadish is blasting the air waves with commercials from all the Democratic money funneled into her campaign. I just hope the voters see through all that.
We do. I changed my vote and shared information from yesterday.

Why would anyone in their right mind vote for the party of Pelosi, Waters, Clinton, Sisolak and Ford? Democrats are losers. President Obama presided over the worst economic recovery in modern time. He blamed Republicans in Congress for rejecting his spending agenda and hampering growth. In his last two years in office, he claimed that 2% growth was a great success. In his last year in office, while the economy was again stalling out, Obama claimed that Trump's tax cuts and deregulation would only make things worse.
The economy today is BOOMING. The change from an anemic and weak economy kicked in after Trump reversed almost all Obama's economic policies. But, Democrats wants us to believe that it's Obama who deserves all the credit for the economic boom. In a speech in Illinois, Obama actually claimed that Republicans were taking credit for his "work." He said:
"When you hear how great the economy's doing right now, let's just remember when this recovery started," he said. "I mean, I'm glad it's continued, but … suddenly Republicans are saying it's a miracle."
Facts:
{1} The rate of GDP growth was decelerating in Obama's last year. It went from 2.3% in Q2, to 1.9% in Q3 to 1.8% in Q4 of 2016. Under Trump, GDP growth has averaged 2.9%. It was 4.2% in the 2nd quarter and will be higher in 3rd and 4th.
{2} Real median family income was unchanged August 2015 to November 2016. It's up more than 4% since Trump came into office.
{3} In Obama's last year, unemployment rate remained basically unchanged at 4.9% in Jan 2016. Now it's down to 3.9%
You can go back to recessions, depressions, unemployment and an anemic recovery by voting BLUE. If you want to continue on the path to abundance and greatness, vote RED.
Elissa Cadish is bad mouthing Tao about this on her social media. It is making her look bad and backfiring, because this is a non-story.
I don't like her style. I don't like the way she handles herself on here, and I did read the mentioned writs. I don't want that on the NSC.

I voted for Tao, because he is the better candidate.
I voted for Tao because of this story. Cadish is the only one mudslinging.
Cadish is the better choice, because she is the better judge. All the rest is crap.
This I agree with entirely. Look Tao was sort of a maverick who did his own thing on the District Court bench when he was there. The leaving work stuff related to him is not new. However I am not voting for him because Cadish is the better qualified person for the job.

Apparently, its not too compelling…at least at this time…

Yes, there are. I only commented twice.

I am going to follow the cases discussed today. It did change my mind about my vote.

3:19 — Amen.
5:58, me too.
Blog was certainly not dead today.
Good work by Judge Giuliani and her annual Adoption Event. Feel good event.
Settle down ya'll. Its tough enough out there without attorneys going out of their way to be nasty to each other.
Thank you for taking the negative comments down. I feel sorry for this attorney and the attorneys who are so nasty.
There was some actual legal discussion in that thread. However I agree that it became impossible to separate the wheat from the chaff.

I think 9:21 has mistaken this for a comedy blog.
