A notorious 23 year old British hacker named Marcus Hutchins, also known as MalwareTech, and best known for foiling the global cyberattack called WannaCry in May of this year, was arrested Wednesday in Las Vegas by the FBI for his alleged role in spreading malware designed to steal financial information from banks. [RJ] It looked like the world-wide hacker community was putting together a crowdfunding campaign to hire Hutchins private counsel. Any word on whether that has worked, and if so, who his counsel might be?
The Raiders allegedly owe the city of Oakland close to $1,000,000 for four years of unpaid parking fees. [LVS] Does that concern any of you?
I LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOVE football and I even paid my $100 to be on the Raiders seat license lottery.
I like to get that out of the way before saying the Raiders stadium, everything about the deal from bottom to top, is a disgusting rip-off job. Everyone who voted for it has their lips puckered for a taste of Sheldon's ass. And once Sheldey couldn't secure an ownership stake for his spawn he turned his back and left the entire State of Nevada holding the bag.
I believe the Raiders will continue to get away with robbery at every turn and I don't think any elected officials from Clark County through the governor himself will do anything about it. Raiders already screwed the taxpayers and are going to screw UNLV. The screwing won't stop until Mr. Hairut comes, and from the looks of things he's not even close.
Football is insanely profitable and they can pay their own bills. Fuck it, my office needs a new roof, can I have my own special legislative session to decide how much of the bill the taxpayers should pick up?
Amen. The problem is that only a minority of the people here actually care about the state getting ripped off, or maybe more accurately, are skeptical/smart enough to question all the BS that the media and the politicians put out about how good this team will be for Las Vegas and the economic blah blah blah. The only thing the average Las Vegan cares about is LAS VEGAS FOOTBAAAAAWWWLLLLLL! Doesn't matter what it takes.
I wrote a letter to each of my representatives telling them not to vote for this deal and got a letter back saying "Thanks for your input." And then they all voted for it anyway.
Just my lay opinion, but this seems to me that there are a set of specific circumstances that were not foreseen in the original contract. If I were attempting to mediate, I would suggest that the parties start by rewriting the contract as if the Raider's were staying, i.e., how would we have negotiated this if we had known this would have been an issue? Then go back and negotiate the arrears.
Harry Colon Jr., former DB in the NFL. Best name ever, especially when you consider his father, Harry Colon Sr., pretty much said if I had to live with the name, my boy will too.
I've only had a few, limited interactions with Joel Henriod. But I'm impressed. He strikes me as both very talented and also very gracious, a rare combination in lawyers. So yeah, I am glad this stuff gets posted.
Congrats, Joel. It's nice to see one of the good guys do well.
They're the same firm to me. I went to the lobby of one of the two firms and was shocked to learn the guy I was looking for was at the other one. I had to find his bio on my phone and compare it to the sign on the wall to realize what I had done. to this day I don't recall what firm that guy works at.

Adrian Lobo showed up today as retained counsel for Marcus Hutchins. She's pretty hot too.

Henroid is a tough last name to have.

Hen-ree-odd
Might be new to you, but that is not a new joke.
How many people reading this blog care that someone became the managing partner of some law firm?
Me. This is EXACTLY what I came here for.
Joel is very professional, respectful and nice. Does not strike me as a Manager so good for him.
Marisa Border….
i do. nice to actually see content like that on here. wish there was more of it.
Me too. And agree, Henriod is a good guy.
I've got one for you: Who would win in a civil law fight between (only the LV offices) of Snell & Wilmer vs. Lewis & Roca?
Brownstein Hyatt.
This question is irrelevant. The real question is which office could bill more on a civil case.

That is the best that the Hacker Community could do?
"the world-wide hacker community"
